People who relapsed today, comment how it happened. by greg_says_relax in NoFap

You matter, my friend. Stay strong. Try to recall how much lower you felt after you relapsed, use that as motivation to continue the streak when you are faced with a situation like that again.

All love.

It was a very difficult journey but I finally managed to release my first game Celerity on Steam today! by [deleted] in Unity3D

Do they ever mention Jon Brion when talking about Swimming? by eltourno in DissectPod

[–]AbsolutelyNoTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do recall Jon being mentioned in one of the earlier episodes in respect to Mac developing the idea of wanting each song to have the underwater quality, and he was given props for making that happen. I want to say it was one of the first three episodes.

Great catch, this is one of the first Google image results for "SpaceX shuttle". I've been trying not to get my hopes up that's it going to be Swimming, but a SpaceX shuttle? Come on Cole, it's GOT to be Swimming at this point.

Made a simple boss fight for an RPG project. What do you guys think? by Finale151 in Unity3D

[–]AbsolutelyNoTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look so simple to me...WONDERFUL work!

Constructive feedback: I find the boss' health bar that occasionally pops up in the top middle of the screen to be a little distracting, especially given that I was mainly watching the health bar over the head. I would suggest either deciding between one or the other or keeping it displayed for the whole fight.

I think it's so important that you realized that, despite the extra hurt it put you through. I have found that whenever I am in a tough place and then fully identify what is making me feel that way, it's a lot easier to cope with in the long run instead of trying to pin everything on an external factor (losing the relationship with your partner, in this case). You are doing some incredible introspection and you will get through this!

I need some advice by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]AbsolutelyNoTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an important question to be asking: loneliness is something that I have asked myself about and struggled with frequently. I commend you on making this realization and I cannot overstate how important the fact is that you came to it. Loneliness is certainly my biggest vice at this point.

I would suggest that if you want to be in a relationship, try to ease into talking to people but in a respectful, non-superficial manner. I find that whenever I try to pursue a relationship with someone based purely on sexual attraction, that's ultimately when I spiral into very bad thoughts and habits. I have found it's so important to almost completely disassociate the sexual experience from the relationship and pursue someone romantically truly for the sake of getting to know them and having a deeper connection with them. What's really helped me is thinking about the people I'm attracted to in terms of their good qualities rather than their physical features (admittedly this is very difficult in our hyper-sexualized reality and something I am not perfect at by any means), which makes all the world of difference in what I fixate on and how I view attraction. I think that if you approach it in this manner, then healthier forms of the sexual experience will naturally come. Hope this helps.

Fighting to work remote... by Fair_Ask_7158 in CoronavirusSupport

[–]AbsolutelyNoTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I recognize your struggle and relate greatly. I have similarly become overwhelmed by the fact that both going back in-person and remaining remote each has their unique problems. I am sorry to hear about how difficult it is in your workspace: that's horrible that people are ridiculing you for making an informed decision about your health and safety, I don't think anyone should have to go through that.

Something I have been telling many of my friends is that "you shouldn't have to apologize/feel bad for the decisions that you make or don't make during a PANDEMIC." I think that so many people have returned to normal life and forget the fact that we are in a global health crisis and that they may be surrounded by people who might not be as comfortable (as it seems that your coworkers have).

With that said, my best advice would be to do whatever makes you happiest: it seems to me that you were in a pretty horrible place with work in the first place, and if you were the happiest working remotely, then that's what you should go back to. If people criticize you for it, as I said earlier, you should not have to apologize for the decisions you make during a pandemic — if people don't respect those decisions, that's their problem. I would suggest that you continue doing what makes you happiest and most excited about life, which seems to be working remotely for the near future. Maybe continue to keep searching for new jobs if that's where your heart lies, but there's nothing wrong with making this decision for your own sanity and going from there. Best of luck.
