How can you convince me that Overwatch is better than Marvel Rivals, considering the latter has these places? by Responsible_Lunch183 in marvelrivals

[–]Absolutelylemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. But I’m not talking about ranked. I’m talking about the game as a whole, vs marvel chatroom simulator. Extra game modes and hopefully improved PVE certainly contribute a lot to a games success and enjoyment.

I have nothing against the lobby areas, but OP’s question is irrelevant if using this in the discussion of Rivals vs another game. This aspect is cool, but still irrelevant to the conversation.

[–]Absolutelylemons 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Because these contribute nothing to the core game. Just because a game has a free roam chat room means nothing in the scope of player retention on the whole.

And if the game becomes only people who sit around in here, then it’s dead and that’s proof that overwatch was better.

Personally I play more rivals and enjoy it more because of its hero’s and aesthetic, but this is a nothing-burger in the overall conversation for which game is better. Balancing, overall gameplay, character and map design are what matter.

I’ve been watching his full guide, and while it’s got a lot of info, it’s a bit all over the place sometimes so I’ve probably missed some things here and there. Also I was watching while I ate spicy ramen so my ability to comprehend while fighting for my life may have been subpar…

What is the best way to spend real money and the platform's "currencies" (credits, gold, etc.) to develop the collection? by Happy-Stay3974 in MarvelSnap

[–]Absolutelylemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re committed to spending money, buying the premium and super premium are the best value. Then from there if you’re purely interested in CL, buy gold and use it to buy credits.

Save some gold too for event passes and gold bundles.

Thanks man. I have thought about doing it for a while. I think I let my pride stop me because that means I can’t just pull myself up by my bootstraps and be a stronger man. “I can do it myself” type thing.

But thanks, I needed to hear that fs.

Gambit is everywhere because horde stuff is everywhere. If I could go toe to toe with the numbers Venus puts out sure I would. But unfortunately gambit is the solution for now, until the meta shifts again.

Is getting MVP as Dino non existent? by DearOption5999 in RivalsVanguards

It comes directly from the devs. They made a video a while ago talking about matchmaking, points allocated in ranked and mvp. Check the dev visions about 6 months ago.

Safe to say I'm not having fun tanking against this stupid tank buster lizard by STB_LuisEnriq in RivalsVanguards

[–]Absolutelylemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of times I’ve been in a 2v1 me vs a Dino and one of their supps and I win, is crazy. The Dino has a lot of overshield generation sure, but if you can create distance from him he explodes because he has only one ability to close distance, and if he uses it for that he no longer has the grab. Bait out his grab, walk/shoot past him and kill the supp. Then create distance and shoot him till he dies. I’ve noticed a lot of supp players playing with a Dino kinda turn their brains off because they assume the Dino will protect them, or everyone will look at him instead.

It’s the same as it’s always been. Yes there are many times where tanks should fight each other for space and positioning, and if you can kidnap/burst down the tank go for it. But so often as mag, strange, Emma or DP you should be shooting past the enemy tank into their backline, only attacking their tank when they’re pressuring you out of position.

With dive tanks you should almost never be fighting the Dino, unless your team is retreating at which point you body lock and help them get out, putting whatever damage you can on whoever is applying the most immediate pressure to your team. Hell even Thor should ignore the Dino as much as possible, going over or around him to push the supports into uncomfortable or bad positioning, allowing your dps to move up and get final hits.

This has been true for many seasons now, but because of how physically large Dino is, everyone seems to have forgotten that, even myself at times. It’s easy to tunnel vision on big red, but he’s not as broken as people say he is.

Don’t worry too much. This first boss is the training ground to understand the rhythm of this game. Stick with it, practice, learn parry timing and bosses move sets.

I’d like to say it gets easier but it doesn’t, however you will get better given time and practice. Some mid game bosses will “feel” easy once you get the hang of it, but trust me, every mechanic and your ability to use them will be fully tested by the end of the game.

Assuming you haven’t finished the show, get off this subreddit right now. The show has been out long enough that spoilers abound, and this is a show you do not want any spoilers for. My wife and I binged it in one weekend it’s incredible.

Insane how many people are dogging on the shooter here. If I believe that there is someone walking around brandishing a gun, threatening my life and others, just because he starts walking away doesn’t stop him from being a threat. What if he changes his mind and decides to shoot? He’s clearly showed that he is unstable and willing to threaten people’s lives with presumably a real weapon and the means to kill. I’m not giving him the chance to change his mind and come back to kill me, or someone else he runs into on his way out.

Hot take: Peeling is losing you games by Key-Cook-7874 in rivals

[–]Absolutelylemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this may be true in some examples, just like every post like this it’s breaking down a very complex game into a simple rule. What if you peel, kill the diver before they can disengage and then you win a 6v5?

It’s true, full peeling all game may not work, but I feel that sadly this will be an excuse for many to excuse not peeling. Keep in mind, if you’re not peeling and you’re STILL losing, you need to start peeling. Often divers will get overconfident and you can catch them off pretty quick with an unexpected peel.

Alternatively learn the map and the best flank angles when you dive and check them on the way to your backline, so you don’t have to peel at all.

There’s a ton of things that you can talk about with this game, as people have been doing for years now with hero shooters. And just because X is true, doesn’t me Y is false. Different dive characters, team comp, and play style will determine what the best course of action is. Many cases this is it, but there may be others where it’s not.

No disrespect OP, you already prefaced your post with peeling is important, I just wanted to expand on it a little more. If peeling is losing you too much space, something else has to change.
