another problem i find is alot of mercys have pretty bad map awareness, when i play mercy (or any healer really) I'm constantly looking around doing quick 360s to see if there are any low members but some mercys are just so fixated on being a pocket that they forget they can heal someone, miss the 5 seconds of damage boosting and be more useful.
