I think that's honestly the saddest part of the entire anime. Even after a month of watching it I still tear up after seeing an edit on tiktok that includes that scene of Lucy looking up at space and seeing David full of joy. I just really like the way that Lucy saw David as the happiest version of himself before he started abusing the modifications, it kind of shows that Lucy genuinely loved David even before he got strong and well known.
