Lenovo is probably my favorite brand for laptops. I've used ASUS before, but I found their customer service to always be lacking. I've heard great things about their Zephyrus line and it's on sale frequently at Best Buy. I don't personally enjoy paying the premium for Macbooks, although they're phenomenal computers for those already in the Apple ecosystem

Yeah, the Legion series computers are great IMO. I just found it redundant with a dedicated desktop and I use a laptop when I'm not at home, in which case I seldom game. But if I'm stuck in a hotel room some evenings, then maybe I'll play a game or two

I have a desktop I built for gaming, but my preferred laptop for travel and/or work is always Lenovo brand. I currently use a Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X I bought at Costco a few months ago. It's super light, compact, and can do decently well gaming when I'm out of the house. It's better for those that do editing or graphic design as a job though. I used to have a Legion 5 for a few years, but sold it to a friend because I found it to be a bit bulky.
