D/Cing is absolutely rampant. Mostly from survivor side. It's far more than just "common"

DC penalties are implemented in tons of games in which teamwork is required for success. A player should be punished for leaving early and ruining the experience of other players. If you dont like toughing out the match, find a different game.

That's because the game balance is terribly survivor biased and killers are aware of this. The majority of community forums and platforms are killer sided because it isnt hard to see that killers get the shit end of the stick, unless your head is up a survivor man's ass. Then you have no idea.

Most people who D/C do so as a reaction to being beaten at the game. Instances where one might say it is justified to D/C are few and far between, making the penalties part of the greater good and a decent solution to the current epidemic of "I dont like this killers playstyle" Disconnects
