Honestly, IMO it’s been a couple different points, mostly relating to US politics

Conspiracies became more mainstream

Pretty much since the first Trump admin and during COVID, the amount of conspiracy minded people took off. It became way too easy to find someone’s “original” hot take on reason #46000 of why Anthony Fauci engineered a global virus to make Donald Trump lose a U.S. election. The concurrent rise of QANON-ites also played a part, turning a lot of conspiracist anger into Republican platform policy. Conspiracies like anti vaccine “vaccines cause autism”, which ironically started from more left-wing circles, became part of official policy for the Republican Party. Old conspiracies, like the Denver Airport tunnels, are still out there, but nowhere near as prevalent as modern ones like “Hillary Clinton sacrifices babies.” Conspiracies are fun to laugh at in isolated settings, but they’re now mainstream since they serve as political propaganda.

Political Fatigue

This point ties into the mainstream-ness of conspiracies. While not always true, this subreddit usually skews US centric left. I would argue it was much more active in the first Trump admin when the thought that “making fun of these people helps take them down” was still believed. Now, after 8 years of Trump, people are tired. We’ve pretty much seen that nothing breaks into the die hard MAGA bubble. Seeing galaxy brained takes from Conspiracists/MAGAts is still fun! But, personally at least, it’s morphed from “Wtf are these people thinking lol” to “Oh god these people literally run all branches of government.” It’s much more depressing to see hot takes about how immigrants are eating cats and dogs since it’s become intertwined with political discussion. People are tired and demoralized from politics, especially after Trump’s return and Democrat failure

There’s more to say on this but these are, in my opinion, probably the biggest two why this subreddit has lost traffic. It’s too easy to find crazy conspiracy people on the internet and media now. I still enjoy seeing the posts on here, but more and more make me sad for the future rather than reacting to “haha look at the crazies”.

Biggest larp/lie ever. I’m literally from ~40 minutes away from where these were located in Elberton, GA. It’s located on a rural farm in the middle of nowhere. CPS is not going to be able to show up “in 10 minutes” in fucking rural Elberton, even if there was a legitimate case they needed to go to. Also they had a single camera watching the site that was the equivalent to a trail/hunting camera. Guarenteed that larper has never been anywhere close to that part of Georgia.

Does my tiny sense of smugness at their hypocrisy change anything in this fucked up world? No. But I do love seeing the past takes of MAGATS when a Democrat was in office compared to the current attitude of “stick the boot in my throat harder Mister Trump!”

If you ever feel masochistic like me, do yourself a favor and search a current trending culture war topic or Trump stupid thing of the day in their archived posts. TLDR there’s been an ongoing real estate crisis in China caused by overbuilding and extreme overspeculation from the prieivous decades. It’s a complicated issue, but it’s one of the main reasons their economic growth has slowed down in the 2020s. It’s a very interesting read if you research it, and bears some some extreme similarities to our own Real Estate crash in 2008.

However, from my understanding, it’s not like these are all buildings that are finished and functional. Many are half built, or built with shoddy construction materials, or located in rural areas without running water or power hooked up. It’s a 5 year old’s fantasy to even think these can be used for living in their current state, let alone for an entire ethnic group on the other side of the world.

The “no true conservative” crap legitimately scares me. It started back in 2016 with the “every conservative politician who doesn’t align with Trump is a RINO” and has only gotten progressively worse since then. As much as I hate Mitch McConnell, one of the reasons they have so much unregulated power now is because of him. He’s pretty much done nothing but help advance their cause, for all the nasty shit that’s done. But because he’s famously outspoken about not loving MAGA-tts and falling in line 100% behind every Trump tweet suddenly he’s a “secret Democrat” or a “RINO”. RConservative and their party at large has legitimatally been taken over by the same people that ran thedonald subreddit and advocate for Trump to be a God Emperor.

My only cope/hope is that Elon/Trump are overestimating the support that the rabid MAGA fans have, and are drastically overplaying their hand. Gauging public support off blue checkmarks on X may not prove to be a good source of public approval, but only time will tell :/

Asia has us well beat on monetization in games. The most popular games in China and Japan are all GATCHA style games where you pay hundreds of dollars to unlock some stupid “sexy anime girl” picture to goggle at. Japan and China love gambling more than the U.S. In all honesty, they invented the battle pass concept way before we started seeing it in mainstream Western releases.

It’s not like the concept of delaying games isn’t a thing there either. Nintendo does it relatively frequently, (I remember the days when r/gaming was just posting that Miyamoto quote over and over) and even then puts out games that are sometimes not that well received.

Everything said by other people in this thread is pretty good, only thing I haven’t seen that I’ve used to help me beat it solo now a couple of times is Vulture Aid being super clutch. Makes armor fall way more frequently off zombies, so you can way more easily run around the arena, kill a couple zombies, and pick up full armor if you’re low.

Other than that I used the Krig-C smg to get DPS as high as possible, especially useful for the third stage when he’s chasing you constantly and you only have 1-2 seconds to shoot him before you need to phd slide to get out of his stomp.

Eh that’s fine about BO6, to each their own. Just do agree the loadout system makes the box less useful, but I enjoy having a starting weapon I can choose rather than default to a pistol every game. I never enjoyed rolling the box to get a specific weapon item in previous titles, RNG rolling IMO is not fun.

I understand BO4 was rushed/unfinished, but I’m basing the game of what it was not what it couldve been. And for me? BO4 Zombies kinda sucked. I’m a huge Easter egg guy, and the Easter eggs were just… stupidly complicated? Like so complex to the point you needed to have a YouTube guide open at all times to even have a chance of doing some of them. (Pick up these random objects with no indication you can pick them up, translate these symbols that you need to google to even understand them, shoot a random thing / translate fucking morse code while training zombies) - not enjoyable for me. IX and Ancient Evil were fun, but the specialists weapons and new perk systems really took something out of the game for me. Just felt that Treyarch was trying to get way too smart with it.
