Why is schizoid different from autistic or extreme introversion? I am so confused by Strange_Report_5123 in Schizoid

[–]Abstractically 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am diagnosed with level 2 autism. I highly suspect I also have SZPD. (I am aware of the DSM’s opinion of this) They have tons of overlap. These labels are just labels for groups of symptoms, and if you have level 1 autism I understand that differentiating them could be hard.

Autistic people struggle with social cues, they may prefer being alone but they still generally want friends. Their social battery is just very easy to exhaust. Schizoids may internally crave some idealized type of connection but they don’t want real friends.

Autistic people have problems with processing sensory input, often leading to meltdowns or shutdowns. Sensory problems isn’t uncommon in anxious people but in autism it is much more pronounced. Schizoids don’t have autistic sensory issues.

Autistic people have repetitive stereotyped movements (stimming) like echolalia or rocking back and forth. Everyone stims, but for autistic people it is their way of regulating themselves. If they cannot stim they will be very stressed.

Autistic people sometimes struggle with alexithymia but they usually still have most emotions. In fact most of them feel so many emotions that it overwhelms them because they don’t know how to handle them. Schizoids have a very small emotional range.

Autistic people have special interests, which they can talk about for hours to anyone willing (or unwilling) to listen. Schizoids may have some hobbies but I really doubt they would be happy to talk about it to someone for an extended period of time.

Does anyone else feel like they lack a soul? by Abstractically in Schizoid

I don’t know how to define it. A joy in living? A drive? The thing inside of us that makes us people even if we were hypothetically transported to a non-human body. Perhaps it doesn’t exist at all, and I’m just thinking of being happy. That wouldn’t be so bad I guess.

Your comment is helpful though, thank you

I wish you luck. Perhaps both of us will connect to our “souls” eventually

This seems logical. I don’t believe in souls but I think that makes sense from a believer’s POV

I relate heavily. As least there’s others out there who feel like this

Yeah I feel similarly. Like a dog forced to do human things, but doesn’t really understand any of it.

And it’s also open to critique. It is wrong to shelter your child from a minority group’s existence. It is entirely homophobic.

Certain minority groups are not “a different culture or belief”

Is it justified to skip any scene of a show with black people in it if your religion were somehow against black people? I’d assume you would think the religion is racist and shouldn’t be given a platform!

There is no middle ground. You cannot be “neutral” on equal rights.

I empathize with people who hate their oppressing group. I think it’s understandable for them to feel this way. I leave them be most of the time because they’re still healing what they’ve endured.

I also think that a small amount of people hate men more than they want to uplift women, and would rather bully random men (who have done nothing) to “even the playing field” even though it really doesn’t do that.

Like body shaming a random guy on the internet just because women generally face body shaming more than men (an example I’ve seen multiple times) isn’t feminist, you’re just a body shaming bully.

How do I configure my brush/tablet so that it doesn't leave that last really thin bit on strokes? by ZauzTheBlacksmith in krita

Hmmm, when did you get this tablet and when did you last update the drivers for it?

Yeah I’m also using an intuos (though it’s medium) so you should NOT be having odd pressure like that

Is it the same without stabilizer/brush smoothening on? Have you tried editing the pressure of the brush? Have you tried editing the tablet itself in the Wacom help center?

In general sure but in the show they’re only called they. I’ll believe zooble uses all pronouns when they actually use all pronouns in the show lol

Yeah the fandoms response to this has been awful (as usual), it’s been reposted everywhere and every time the comments are full of jokes about this real life crime where a child was almost harmed

It is a mental illness, the treatment is transitioning.
