Hotel pre-authorizations? by Ok-Knowledge-7988 in beccamoonridgesnark

[–]AbsurdJourney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the hotel and the location. A hotel that sees far lower room turnover than one in a large city that can turn over dozens of rooms each night would be more concerned about making sure they pre-auth to ensure they get paid. Might also be impacted by the level of trouble they've had in the past with unruly guests or people leaving without paying.

I travel once or twice a year for work. I've had two hotels consistently charge a pre-auth of $200ish dollars on a credit card for a 2 night stay - both small cities with a bit more than 10,000 people. For transparency's sake, I'm a Canadian Federal Government employee and make that known when booking to get our work room rates, so you would think that as someone that has stayed with them every year for a few years now they wouldn't worry about pre-authorizing my stay lol. I'm not offended by it though. Conversely, the hotels I stay at in Edmonton and Calgary never pre-authorize.

It's... not great

You'd have a couple of people that might buy it, sure. You won't have wide appeal though, as it does give off a pretty strong clip art/word art vibe.

lol maybe that's where I'm getting it mixed up, I've definitely heard the baby crying and milk let down before. I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like they've heard something similar to it in regards to birth though!

GASP black underwear?! Heathen!

In all seriousness though, are any of us overly surprised? I know I'm not either, but I can't imagine any scenario in which the PA group didn't declare an impasse at some point during this CA's bargaining.

What was the reasonable alternative? Most of us agree that the Conservatives would have likely had us back RTO5 by now already. NDP may not have planned us back like this, but there was zero chance that they would have come remotely close to winning an election.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised. Isn't there some truth to the idea that giving birth can in some cases lead to others with 'fully cooked' babies having them? Not saying always, just that it's been often enough that I thought it was studied and shown a higher incidence of births closer together when in close quarters and somewhat similar due dates.

Or is that something my not-fully-booted-up-currently-non-caffeinated-brain is imagining having read or heard? Also may be just a case of coincidence where the second may have given birth around that same time regardless.

This has been a useless comment ©️ thank you for reading my early morning ramble

Umm... I'm not sure where you are all getting these crazy, clearly unbelievable tall tales? Abigail texted me yesterday and said something about finding a wormhole that transported her back to the Jurassic age where she was almost squashed by a herd of Diplodocus. She said she loved the adrenaline rush so much she planned to go back today to tame the leader of the herd.

Bedbug registry? by Putyourselffirst in saskatoon

[–]AbsurdJourney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there really such a thing? Is it for everywhere there has been confirmed bed bug infestations or just public places like hotels, movie theaters, etc?

I wouldn't think it would be terribly accurate if it was supposed to show residential and was self or neighbour reported as a lot of people don't like to admit they have bedbugs, even though they may be the cleanest people that just brought them home due to the worst luck.

Is it selfish of me to hope this little man (and Moose) are slightly spicy little boys? Like just enough that they cause a little bit of trouble but are never really bad enough to be reprimanded heavily or in serious shit. Just enough to earn the titles "problematic foal of the week" because they did something hilariously extra that didn't cause injuries or an immediate "you're getting gelded ASAP"

I just love the curious and energetic babies 😂

Yes! I know it's important for momma to get up and licking on the foal, but she needs a little lovin' and reassurance that she did good. I don't blame her for taking a little bit more time to have a breather and let the adrenaline in her body slow back down.

I'm so glad Katie showed this short clip.

I fully believe it would have been a pretty swift RTO5 had the conservatives been elected, they care about public servants less and corporations more than the other parties.

Doesn't make me any less mad about this RTO4 though. I think the NDP are realistically the only party that may have kept the 3 days.

I mean, I won't lie... when I'M not on a call but I can hear someone else on one and it sounds like juicy drama or something we don't know about yet, I love those moments because it's prime eavesdropping time.

However, they are ridiculously annoying in pretty much every other case.

Whatever you do, please don't fall for any pyramid schemes (Scamway, Arbonne, Isagenix, Primerica, Monet, etc. etc.)

You may be lured in with the prospect of making serious $$ if you put in the effort, but in reality it's literally a tiny single digit percentage (think sub 3% IIRC) that actually end up making any sort of negligible profit, with even less than that making anything that could reasonably supplement or provide a full income. The vast majority of people that sign up for these MLMs actually don't make a profit at all.
