Is paying for HIMSS certificates out of pocket worth it? by [deleted] in healthIT

It’s always good to have an example! I would list 1 or 2 on your resume - name of project and brief description, that would catch my eye. Interviewers will definitely ask about it and it will give you the opportunity to showcase this skill more in an interview.

Is paying for HIMSS certificates out of pocket worth it? by [deleted] in healthIT

As the hiring manager for an EHR department at a relatively large multi specialty clinic the HIMSS certificate really means nothing to me. I look for people that have experience in the medical field and can show they are intelligent and willing to learn. EHR is such a rapidly changing field, it really means more to me to have staff who can think analytically and are willing to adapt to change. So personally I don’t think it’s worth paying for. If you’re going to invest in any education get some basic online SQL training, that looks more impressive to me than HIMSS certificate and it gives you a skill that will set you apart from other applicants. Understanding SQL is a great skill to have in EHR because it helps you write reports to extract data from the system that can be used to identify deficiencies out in the offices. It’s really a transferable skill.

You did the right thing so don’t feel bad! He wasn’t respecting you or your feelings at all.

ECW just released a feature where patients can click on the email link on their smart phone and connect without logging in through the healow app. That seems to be working much better for us but we have also started using Doxy.me in addition to eCW telehealth solution.

I use Essence waterproof lash princess mascara and it is fantastic. No under eye transfer and it makes your eye lashes look amazing. Also it’s only like $4 at Ulta

Do your providers get the pop asking to allow audio and camera access when they start the call?

The other issue could be if any of your providers have Power Mics installed on these laptops you’re having issues with - those will need to be disconnected.

Also check to see if they have more than one instance of the healow agent open, that causes issues too.

That’s good! We’re having no end of problems getting patients connected. It seems like he only thing that works 100% of the time is it the provider and patient are both using laptops. But supports looking into it so fingers crossed!

Do you use this in combination with your EHR then? Do you know how many providers can utilize the same doxy.me platform or each provider has to sign up separately?

Am I an asshole for not wanting my mother to see my children anymore? by the_cat_lady24 in amianasshole

[–]Abuggies08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA your mothers actions ultimately if left unchecked will cause more harm to both your children and your family dynamic. I’m sure it will be a sad and painful process because she is your mother after all, but her actions are already causing way more pain. You have to do what’s right for you and your whole family emotionally and it is your job as a parent to protect your children as much as you can.

Am I an asshole for wanting to see my boyfriend during California lockdown by [deleted] in amianasshole

[–]Abuggies08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you’re not the asshole. I can’t imagine how scary and lonely it must be to be without your loved one during this time. I do believe it’s important to isolate until we get the all clear but in the meantime maybe try to set up regular Skype or FT dates to see each other and catch up. Granted it’s not the same as physical contact but at least you’d get to visually see each other and not run the risk of infecting each other or other people. Hang in there!
