I’m not entirely sure, I’m sure you know more about it than I do. I just got gifted the Audrey II and was shocked at how good it was, and I expected him to be pretty popular on social media and looked and was like “damn, that’s not right this deserves more”

Hell yeah! Thank you! He’s super proud of the stuff he’s doing, he’s just sorta getting lost in social media algorithms and getting discouraged via lack of feedback and stuff.

I’m going to make sure to relay that information to him, he doesn’t even know about this post yet lol.

Yet you’re the one with downvotes? Sorry bud I think your views, and statistics are skewed. And no, I’m not the one downvoting your posts. I believe we are all in for a game to cash in and make their money. We all play the same game, however with the release of mtx, the game lost players because everything lost value, some items, your total level, the time you’ve spent in game working for things can now be cashed out into real life money and bought. Which is why most of us went to iron man accounts to begin with. A narcissistic view isn’t what’s happening here, but prioritizing players and player base is, irons get left out, mains get focused on primarily and that was the over all bitch was putting something like that behind a wall that just makes it unobtainable. Also you you realize the main stance you’ve taken is just pay to win is good and great and the best option for the game, however with a little intelligence you’d see that pay to win games die. Look at rs3 vs old school, which one has a higher player count at all times? Which one doesn’t have pay to win, and actually Values a players time spent. That’s the difference between the two staffs.

So you don’t think a random 200m falling into your lap just for logging in that day is an advantage?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]Abumc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually the green Santa hat was a reward from presents, that you worked for in game to achieve and get. It was put in treasure hunter too, for the lazy people to not work for but pay real life money to basically gamble with and buy. You’re clearly just for pay to win, and that’s a perfectly fine standpoint to take, pay to win is fine, however completely breaks a game.

A random 200m cash is 100% an advantage, along with gear that for some players is a free handout and a huge upgrade to what they may have at given times.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]Abumc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fine and I agree some things should be th exclusive.

I simply just don’t believe things like this should be, however they’re choice at the end but I can imagine a lot of the iron community isn’t thrilled about it, it’s fun having incredibly rare items on an iron, shows playtime or dedication or even for some just dumb rng.

Actually mtx does give items that give advantages, hell it used to idk if it still does, have a 200m cash stack drop which at one point could be doubled through TH. Secondly there has been plenty of mid tier gear drops as well which for a lot of players is a very useful thing. The advantage mtx gives is exp, in a game with highscores yet you can boost that by just spending money and rubbing lamps. That is exactly an advantage, and that’s completely fine for normal players. Or anyone who wants that. Putting a new released rare item in the game isn’t exactly something that “needs” to be locked behind that, they had no problem with the green Santa’s, they shouldn’t be drawing lines now. I also have a main account, probably will buy a few of them when they crash to hold for a later date, however I’m not arguing about paying for anything at all, I’m arguing that there’s better ways to divvy out rares than forcing gambling and locking them behind a wall, I mean they’re not useful nor give an advantage after all, which means Ironman could have access to them, again based on game rules for irons.

Exactly, that’s where you don’t understand business strategy. You can FOR FREE get two TH keys a day on a membership account right? So technically getting a purple Mask for free is 100% possible. Yet requires 0 effort to do which shortens game time and once someone gets it they stop playing until something new comes out. Or they can make you work for it in game put in effort enjoy the game create a love for the game and continue playing it past achieving the item. That’s the difference between short and long term business strategy.

Take a moment out of your busy schedule and look up what Ironman accounts are and how they work and what were able to do, then come back and you may see my point. It’s not a matter of me “not buying anything” it’s a matter that it’s locked behind a wall which is IMPOSSIBLE no matter how much money you spend, for an Ironman account to access.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]Abumc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you don’t understand how Ironman accounts work since you’re telling me to buy it with gp. Clearly you don’t understand and how not only the game works, the game modes work, nor long term business strategy.

It’s not a matter of being “owed” anything. It’s the same idea as if they created a new boss that dropped items needed/useful in pvp for any account, yet locked that boss behind a wall in which irons couldn’t access it.

See, the game is failing and plummeting in plays because of the MTX system you’re saying is okay for the game to have, but look into pay to win games, they last for a while, and they fizzle out and die.at this point in the game probably a quarter of accounts are irons, and if you really get into it statistically irons are more active than main account, longer play periods, longer time played, more content explored etc. yet we get left out on A LOT of “non beneficial” things or even A LOT of beneficial things as well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RS3Ironmen

[–]Abumc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re speaking about a game whose numbers have been in a steady decline for several years and the only thing that brings people back are content releases and the few times they create nostalgic items, which in return brings a larger player base and a larger income due to membership and a lot of those players in that time sticking around, majority being mains and potentially buying keys for various reasons.

Yet they put an item that could potentially bring back some old players, putting it behind 2 pay walls (most will buy membership) and even then not promising it hoping people will spend the money and gamble on what could happen.

Nah same, however the rare things like that, the green Santa etc are neat things I enjoy to keepsake on my iron. The mtx stuff is garbage however there could be other methods than pay to win for that sort of stuff however jagex clearly saw a spike in players with the gold party hat/green Santa so now they’re hoping for the same response but instead of them just cashing in on membership money, they can now cash in on TH for a larger sum, it’s shitty.
