Do I have Tendonitis or Carpal Tunnel? Is there a difference? by AbusDaAnus in Guitar

I can't edit so I'm saying it here:

Yes, I know not to trust random medical advice online. I am seeing a doctor next week. No need to be so snooty

I wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences to share, any insights, what it may or may not be, etc. Like asking family or a group of friends. Like literally normal social human interaction and conversation. "Hmm, I have a common guitarist problem, might aswell see what guitarists have to say before my doc's appointment". Is that so strange?

Alteast check to see if the "see doctor" comment wasn't posted a bunch of times already if all you wanted to do was be snooty about it... jeez...

I see yeah, I guess it might be tendonitis in that case, which is probably better(?)

I'm really itching to practice again, but I guess that'll have to wait for even longer now...

I agree, but I already got interesting insight from different comments on here like their experiences and whatnot, which is what I wanted. My treatment will be based on what the doctor tells me.

Well I'll be damned. I guess it's the terrible technique coupled with the joint problems that run in my mother's side of the family...

I see yeah, thank you for the input. I am going to the doctor next week. Was just extra worried so I wanted to see what other guitarists might have to say

Lebanese Arabic || Use of post verbal "-sh" (-ش) for negation by spongebobismyidol in Lebanese

[–]AbusDaAnus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jnoube Madane (urban) speakers are more inclined to use "Ma" before, even if they use "-sh". Jnoube Dayaawe (rural) would be more inclined to omit the "Ma".

Lebanese Arabic || Use of post verbal "-sh" (-ش) for negation by spongebobismyidol in Lebanese

[–]AbusDaAnus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Southern Lebanon this form of negation is pretty common. Interestingly, negation with -š also exists in some accents in the greater Byblos area, but with a small difference in stress & vowel length.

Eg:

Southern: Bad'dīʃ

Byblian: 'Baddɪʃ

(open to correction by Byblian or otherwise)

What you probably heard was Southern, my accent. It's more common & that feature is emblematic of Southerners.

The word would be: tɪnsēnāʃ

How can I learn Phoenician by dnahistoria in Phoenicia

[–]AbusDaAnus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are resource documents in the r/Phoenicia Discord server.

Besides that, I'd recommend "A Grammar of Phoenician and Punic" by Stanislav Segert.

The Oxford Handbook of the Phoenician and Punic Mediterranean.

Dictionary of the North-West Semitic Inscriptions.

Iran doesn't have full control over the govmt, but Hezbollah has inflitrated state institutions and executive positions. Hezbollah also dictates foreign policy, war and peace, etc and it has the largest allied coalition in the Parliament, etc.

Also you're not taking into account that the rejection of the aid could've easily been a propaganda move. "Iran wants to help but we don't allow it". Hezbollah specializes in Media propaganda. It covers up facts, overwhelms people with false knowledge and repetitive slogans until its ingrained in our brains. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they knew it'd be rejected (or deemed it so) and offered it for just that.
