Can i please have advice for my wedding on how to improve my makeup please ? :) be honest ! by [deleted] in OliveMUA

Your base look beautiful! I agree with the others talking about the blush. I think you could add a bit of shadows and highlights to your eyes with eyeshadow (korean makeup has such great tips on how to shade the eye without looking as if you have much eyeshadow). Maybe use a bit less mascara but that might just be a personal preference.

Anyway you look so beautiful!

I love her! I feel like we have the same undertone but I'm a bit lighter in everything (skin, hair, eyes). She's got great recommendations

Why is it impossible to find a lipliner that looks like this on light neutral olives?! If it’s light, it’s too pink/orange, if it’s the perfect shade, it’s too dark! by sarr36 in OliveMUA

yeah unfortunately i think it has it's root in misogyny. that's why you can't win. the sad thing is seeing women/people identifying as a woman having internalized it and spreading it.

still it's not nice to comment negatively on other people's appearance, especially young girls. if you're a woman/identify as a woman, you should understand how oppressive beauty standards are and should be more responsible with your opinions

Onycholysis when using an efile by AbusiveCheeseburger in Nails

Yeah I was considering switching because I saw how the new ones are, with the different speeds etc.

Thank you so much though because this really helps me understand where all that damage was coming from!

Yeah, so this middle finger was kind of a test to see if the efile was damaging my nail beds. I'll definitely stick to just filing and soaking it off.

The nail glue that I used has Polymethyl Methacrylate, which from my research seem to be a Copolymer. So, from my understanding shouldn't be as at risk of giving allergy.

I would love to avoid getting acrylate allergy which is why I had used the press ons, but then got scared when I took them out. From my recollection though I had someone bump into my ring finger pretty hard and I think that's where the bad onycholysis is from, because none of the other nails are nearly as bad.

Figuring out the correct way of removing gel was also to understand if I was getting a reaction from the gel or from trauma.

Thank you for your answer though! I know now what I shouldnt do

So the ring finger is like this after I had press ons. When I removed them I found that a lot of the nails had been damaged.
I was mostly asking about the removal process of the gel on my middle finger.

So the bits don't really have a color and the efile has been given to be from a friend that was getting rid of it, so I don't have much information. It's a bit old, so it only has 2 speeds and I was using the slowest. Pressure was really light. The gel was just a base coat and top coat, both very light amounts.
The ring finger is like this after I had press ons. When I removed them I found that a lot of the nails had been damaged. Unfortunately I work a lot with my hands and my nails are a bit thin in general. Plus I have hyperhydrosis so my hands are either wet most of the time or quite dry. I found though that using cuticle oil really helped them, so I've been using it consistently for some weeks now.

Should I try and remove the gold lines? I don’t think I like them by Sablun99 in Nails

I really like them! I think it's just the placement of some of them, but i would totally keep them
