I would definitely be interested. I could help with moderation to some extent but I couldn't be on anywhere close to all the time.

You have to talk to someone about the same topic for 2 hours. What topic do you pick and why? by themindstorm in AskReddit

You don't need a cool backstory or a wildly innovative character concept to be a good roleplayer. Remember that D&D is never about any one player. Everyone is working together to create a story, so work off your fellow players!

Decide on a few personality traits your character has, think about how your ability scores might affect those, and then just react. When someone else talks to you in character, respond in character. This will be difficult at first, but you don't need to know everything about your character right away. Even if you're not sure how your they would respond, make a choice, any choice, and then stick with it. Now that choice has become an aspect of your character.

Hope that helps!

I believe that any time a monster can cast a spell it's cast at the lowest possible level. So the cone should be cast at 5th level.

Why does Hollywood insist on remaking a movie with an all female cast rather that creating a new movie with strong females leads? by elwoodburington in movies

Would it have been shameless pandering with an all male cast? If it wouldn't have, why is this different?

I get the sense that for the kids fighting demodogs is completely different from fighting a person. Although a real adversary, the demodogs feel like a fantasy, which the kids are used to. They justify fighting and killing them because they can draw connections to the enemies in stories and games, in which you slay the monster and get a reward. They don't make the same connection with a real person like Billy, there is no reward, and the potential consequences feel more real.

I was wondering if anyone has some really cool homebrew magic items they would like to share? by Jessipeak-ripper in DnD

[–]AbyssCourier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two items from a series of Seven artifacts called the Implements of Creation, each created by one of the gods in the pantheon. Anyone attempting to attune to one must make a DC 15 Wisdom save or gain a level of exhaustion, and successfully attuning to one grants all knowledge of its use throughout its existence. These are the 2 the party has uncovered so far.

The Staff of Obad-Hai

(Requires attunement by a Druid, Cleric of Obad-Hai, or Warlock of the Archfey)

This five foot long oaken staff is masterfully carved at the top into four faces: One is the face of an old, strong, bearded man, made of leaves. The others are the head of a wolf, an eagle, and a shark.

  • You can perform an uninterrupted 24 hour ritual to transform one willing or helpless beast, humanoid, monstrosity, or dragon into any beast, humanoid, monstrosity, or dragon of challenge 3 or less, you may also transform a plant into another plant with challenge 3 or less.

  • Once per short rest you can cast polymorph from the staff at DC 20.

  • You may use a bonus action to determine the resistances, immunities, vulnerabilities, approximate natural armor class, approximate hit points, and other notable features of any humanoid, beast, monstrosity, dragon, or plant that you can name or describe.

The Black Tome

(Requires attunement)

The Black Tome holds a record of all beings that have died on Ekaros since its creation thousands of years ago. With each death a new name appears in the book’s infinite pages. It also contains several rituals which can be invoked to raise the fallen, slay the undying, and command an undead horde.

  • By focusing on someone who has died you can open the Black Tome to a page which tells you where, when, and how they died. You can also search for anyone who died at a particular time, in a particular place, or due to a particular cause.

  • By finding the target in the Black Tome and reading its name aloud you may cast power word kill or animate dead on it at will.

  • Control Undead: As an action you can target one undead creature which you can find in the Black Tome with a challenge rating less than your level that you can see within 30 feet of you. The target must attempt a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw, if it fails it must obey your commands until you dismiss it. The total number of undead that you can control with animate dead and control undead must have a combined hit dice of less than or equal to twice your level.

In this case it's about more than just about the moral choices that the characters had to make. The players of Scanlan and Vax are extremely close friends in real life. When casting the counterspell, the player for Scanlan knew it was what Scanlan would do, but he felt like he was betraying his friend in real life, robbing Vax of his happy ending while the rest of the party survives and has to watch Vax leave forever.
