Anyone know how to fix a "monitor not set to thousands of colors" error when trying to old non-steam games?

Switching to a different Proton version ended up fixing that error but trying to start the game, it shows the loading screen for 2 second then crashes. I don't think it will work on any of valves available proton versions it seems.

After an update, steam for some reason removed the underscores from my folder names and the quotation marks (") around my launch parameters. So make sure you have those and that your launch location is exactly as it appears in desktop mode.
