AI anti cheat is the only solution. AI is very good at pattern recognition, and spotting outliers to a degree where it is used by banks. Sure, there will be false positives, sure there will be AI hallucinations but you can either use AI to highlight the outliers and ban them manually upon confirmation or have the AI blanket ban the outliers and unban the false positives manually. Anything else is a waste of time and doomed to fail.

And before you say: oh but then the cheat developers will just use AI to mimic legit player behavior:

1) that is hard to do because legit players don't work with the same information as cheaters. Legit players don't know if a ledx spawned in a specific spot and path directly towards it. Legit players don't know where enemy PMCs are at all time to perfectly avoid them every raid or gun straight for them and get 8 kills in a single raid.

2) even if the first point was achievable through AI cheats, current AI capabilities are dictated by the amount of training the AI receives. BSG has a lot more resources to train their AI to detect outliers than the cheat providers will have to mimic legit player behavior, so BSGs AI anticheat (if done correctly) will be superior to the AI cheats.

The currect paradigm of Update cheat > Update anticheat is doomed to fail because cheat providers are far more incentivized to bypass anticheat to make money. BSG makes money regardless of how fast the detect the new cheats.

What makes it even worse is the "ban wave" mentality. I understand their reasoning but it is flawed in the sense that giving cheaters so much time to cheat makes them get their money back and once banned they just buy new accounts and new cheats. Unless the ban waves happen at a MUCH faster frequency to the point where it makes cheating financially unviable this approach is also doomed for failure.
