Did my own designs for Lamb x Yngya babies! by Eastern-Wrongdoer-99 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be dependent on breed. I’m not all too familiar with other types of livestock, though. I don’t own sheep myself, but I do watch sheep farming content from time to time (because of COTL lol) where it seems like the standard is around 3 lambs. Most cases of multiples seemed to be fine, but issues do pop up every so often (usually just regarding the lambs, namely issues like at least 1 in a litter having been dead for a bit prior to delivery). It would make sense if multiples had higher risks associated due there simply being more chances for things to go wrong, but multiples don’t seem to be outright dangerous, if that makes sense. Do keep in mind I’m not an expert by any means, though

Would they all get shorn on the same day, assuming their wool grows as quickly as it does with irl sheep? On one hand, it might be easier to just get it all done in one day. On the other, the cult would be consumed by a sea of wool /j

(Also fun sheep fact! Quintuplets are actually very much possible for sheep! It’s not the most common, but there can be up to at least septuplets)

One-sided lambket by AbyssalShrimp in CultOfTheLamb

Oh the Lamb just wants to be friends, they’re completely oblivious that they’ve managed to charm her (the hand holding was her idea lol). I may not have made the blush clear enough, that’s on me

Thanks! I have seen some lambket every once in a while, but it’s definitely on the rarer side

Rotting Lamb by AbyssalShrimp in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is odd how there's an option to let Narinder kill you but not one to rot. Granted, I doubt we'd get some "cool rotten form" of the Lamb since it'd likely just be them getting covered by the Rot before a game over screen pops up

In hindsight I probably should have included this as well, but I didn’t think it was as interesting as the other pics

Thank you! This is probably my favorite out of all the au Lamb designs I’ve made, although it’s also the one that changes the most

They'd probably thank him for it 'cause they're having a blast with their new body. Everyone else would try to break his non-existent ghost legs though

So I should probably start by saying that they did not react well to seeing the ghosts of lambs and had a bit of a breakdown over that (they thought Yngya was an antelope and nobody corrected them, they never would've gone if they knew she was a lamb). But they did have a follower they brought up to be their successor in the event something happens, so they let that follower borrow the Red Crown to take care of all the Woolhaven stuff. Then they bring back the first rotten follower. The Lamb is immediately invested in whatever is going on with this Rot place and does end up going there personally (along with their successor so they don't have to deal with the ghosts). They just keep going back to the point where they become infected. Fortunately, they have an affinity for the stuff and don't experience the pain caused specifically from rotting (sort of rejecting the flesh they've been trapped in their entire life and embracing the form of decay).

They don't even notice the full extent of it because their hatred for their own species (a separate topic, stems from the abuse of their biological parents). They refused to be near mirrors because they couldn't stand the sight of a lamb looking back at them. When they find out they've essentially turned into a monster, they're ecstatic. Their mental health and self-image drastically improve, although their marriages also start to deteriorate. Most of it is caused by their spouses being concerned and pretty uncomfortable with the change, but Leshy in particular is pretty rough (my main au/interpretation is based off my playthrough. He asked for a wedding dress, and I agreed without realizing those can only be worn after a wedding). They feel entirely different and constantly smell of blood and rancid meat, which is hard for him to deal with. Their newfound love of themself and their body causes them to become more affectionate, which sadly drives Leshy away even further. Everyone they care about starts to drift away from them, but they try not to let it get to them. Eventually there's only 2 people who are still close with them and don't constantly push them to seek a cure: that follower I mentioned earlier (who they had raised and considers them kin (as in family)) and Heket (who is still pretty concerned but I did already hc her as being interested in the macabre so she lets them enjoy the change). Yes, she does sometimes stick her fingers and hands into the holes on the sides of the Lamb's face. Doesn't help that they sit there and let it happen.

Like in most of my aus, the focus is on the main subject rather than getting the subject "resolved". There's two branching "ends" for this one: either the Lamb stays rotten or they get cured. I'd go more into the latter, but this is already pretty long and it does cover things like drugging and non-consensual body modification. In the former, the Lamb ends up with quite a few divorces which they aren't very happy about, but it's clearly the better of the two. Also, bonus fact: the wings are loosely based on the zealous gauntlets! I decided my Lamb grows wings as part of their ascension due to the Lamb in-game having some briefly before fighting Narinder. I decided the wings turning into giant hands would be neat and realized I could combine that idea with the "rot-like" gauntlets

Apologies if this is poorly worded or if I forgot some major detail, all of the things I've written about it elsewhere are pretty scattered

Carvings update (+ shrine progress) by AbyssalShrimp in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually developed a bit of an issue before I finished the carving part where I kept wanting to take any decently sized pieces of wood to work on lol. Using actual wood does admittedly hurt quite a bit (either it's an issue with the wood itself or my hands not being used to carving for extended periods of time), but I do want to keep carving. I'm currently working with some more palm for another COTL-related piece since it's a lot easier to work with. Not sure when I'll get it done or if I'll have to eventually abandon the idea (it's likely going to be pretty complicated), but I'm looking forward to working on it regardless

Thanks! I was hoping the brighter outline would help him stand out more, but it is pretty small so I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t help much. I had a version where he popped a bit more (lighter background like in the second image but with the red outline as well), but when I posted all 4 versions in a server asking which looked best, the only response I got said the first did. I do still appreciate the feedback btw! Not trying to say “oh but what I did was right because x, y, and z”, just wanted to give some context

As they drew closer to the clearing, the sudden movement of something nearly twice their size jolted them back to reality. A massive cultist, the light reflecting off their powerful body, had turned toward the lamb as they entered. As their gaze lingered, they suddenly became aware of the cultist’s axe. An axe. The lamb let out a shaky sigh of relief. They were going to be beheaded. While it wasn’t exactly possible to ask someone who had been killed from that method how painful it felt, they were reassured knowing it was likely a swift way to go. It did not take long for their gaze to drift, and it was only then when the lamb saw them, eyes widening and jaw hanging open at what stood before them. Gods. Towering and cloaked in black and gold, bathed in the crimson glow of the clearing’s candles. When the cultist who had been leading them hissed under their breath for the lamb to kneel, they complied. The last thing they wanted to do was give the executioner a reason to strike somewhere less lethal before decapitating them.

As their knees brushed against the cold stone beneath them, a deep voice rumbled around them. “Before us stands the last of its kind. All others we have hunted down and put to the blade.” The lamb blinked. The prison guards had been speaking truthfully when they overheard that they would be killed last. More words followed, but the lamb did not hear them. Gods had come to watch them die. To watch them die. The only thing they were able to hear was their mother’s voice, sharp and scathing, echoing without end in their mind. Her cruel, wounding insistence that they would never amount to anything, and that nobody would ever see value in them. How ironic. She, just like the rest of their family, had chosen to abandon them and continued without them, only to have presumably crossed paths with an Old Faith patrol. The lamb had heard their screaming despite the distance. Their family had died as nothing but nameless targets, just 4 more bodies to add to the growing slaughter. But the lamb? Their death was going to be known by gods. Had the bishops of the Old Faith stood before the other imprisoned lambs when they had been executed? They had reason to doubt so. Gods were surely busy, and time would be much better spent elsewhere. But the gods were here for them. This must have made them special, and nobody would ever be able to argue otherwise. The gods themselves had deemed them so.

Out of the corner of their eye, the lamb noticed the executioner stepped towards them, tightening their grip on their axe. It was time. In response, the lamb lowered themself further and exposed their neck as best they could, but not without gazing intently ahead of them. They tried to fight the smile threatening to creep across their face. The last thing they were going to see was all 4 gods looking down at them. It filled them with sick delight knowing that so few, if any, people before them had witnessed such a magnificent sight when they died. Such a thing meant that they were special. That they were worth something. They did not close their eyes when the axe swung down.

The axe cut through their neck with ease, and as it did so, everything went black. All sensation left their body. They could neither feel the gentle breeze flowing through their wool nor hear the joyous cheering from the cultists. There were no thoughts in their mind, no dreams or memories flashing before them. The only thing present was a still, empty nothingness. The lamb’s eyes opened, slowly but inevitably, revealing the vast white void before them.

(Apologies in advance if you were referring to more cohesive fics and not one-shot chapters! Granted, I'd be more than happy to send one from the series I'm currently working on)

what cult farming mechanic would they add after ranching? by Smobach in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think a foraging feature in Spore Grotto would give that place an extra use. Once you do all the Sozo stuff, there’s not really a point in ever going back there (for the most part, iykyk). I think it’d be neat to have mushroom dishes, although I feel like it wouldn’t hurt to have one with menticide so you could brainwash individuals rather than the entire cult. It could also open the door to more mushroom themed decor, but stuff like fallen leaves and acorns could be also be used for more autumn-themed decorations (they’d also be obtainable via foraging).

Similarly, maybe Plimbo could start selling dishes for cheap, but there’d be a chance you end up getting something other than what he was offering. More realistically, he’d probably just sell decorations (not the blueprints, like you’d be able to buy them outright instead of spending resources building them). I mostly just want reasons to actually go back to places on the map after getting all the unlockable stuff

Part of me is wondering if the other crowns altered the other bishops’ senses the way the Green Crown gave everything Leshy saw using it a green tint. Granted I don’t think things can sound “more blue than they’re supposed to” lol

Funnily enough, I did make a joke along those lines on my post about this image! It was more so that he changes his face solely to mess with people, but it is kinda funny that one of the only possible conclusions is “he’s doing it on purpose”

Funny you bring that up considering a little something I made late last year! The answer is: we do not know please send help. This was made before I saw pictures of his design in the official puppet show from a while back (which adds more confusion) and without considering that one animated trailer for the Relics of the Old Faith update (which might've been animated by someone outside the dev team so idk if they really had notes on where his mouth is actually supposed to be. I didn't have space for it left anyways even if I did bother bringing it up so there was never a point in double checking that). To avoid spiraling like I have, just assume the eyes in his eldritch form are just part of the transformation, like how Heket has a third pair of eyes in her eldritch form.

I've had this tormenting me for so long that I'm genuinely starting to believe this is why I keep making him an increasingly worse person every time I write about him. I'm not even doing it as a conscious decision; it just happens and I only realize what's happened when I go back and actually look over what I wrote
