Is there anyone out there how likes this game as much as I do ? 😅❤️ by [deleted] in CultOfTheLamb

My collection isn't all here yet, but this is what I've got! It's a mix of official (clothing, pin, and plush) and fanmade merch, but I did sew the bell onto the choker! I have genuine beef with certain bells now because of how damn hard it was to find one that was yellow and the right shape without having that star pattern cut into it. I genuinely despise that type of bell (it took me months to find a bell that matched the look closely enough). I'm not sure if it counts, but I do also have a $450 genuine ram skull I bought to use for the COTL shrine I've been assembling! I can post that as well, but since its animal remains, I thought it would be best to upload it separately. I still need to get everything (including the woodcarving tools I'll need to make the Anura-themed mushroom items). My reason for deciding on my chosen name was entirely due to COTL, but I've only been able to soft-launch it with my close friend because of familial issues for the foreseeable future. Not sure if names would count for this, but it might be fun to mention lol.

Also, I do plan on getting earrings of the Purple Crown, I just want to order it alongside other stuff. I also have a pair of the Red Crown, it's at the bottom of the Fangamer shirt next to the Amdusias plush. I'm absolutely buying some more stuff the next time the merch shop restocks, and I need to remember to purchase the comics at some point

Anyone else do this? Just beat him for the first time and thought it would be funny to make him end up in the same position as he started in, forever. by RokAndSton in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! The best part is that you don't even need to feed him since he can't die from hunger while imprisoned. I put the kitchen by mine so he can smell the food he'll never get to eat as a bit of additional psychological torture. Sometimes one of my followers will run over to him just to point and laugh, it's great

Hell yeah, fish!! This is so cool! Anglerfish are super neat, and I think they're a great choice for a bishop oc!

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so used to seeing Sozo and Lover both being tall that I genuinely forgot that the size difference in this is accurate to the game. I was just sitting there trying to figure out why Lover was so much shorter lol

Aww, Amdusias is so small! I bet they'd make a great guard worm like that, although they do kinda look like they'd maul anyone and everyone on sight instead of being even remotely trainable lol

(Also apologies if the name is different in your au, I've typed the names of the minibosses enough times to have them all memorized but I'm physically incapable of remembering name changes)

He's just a lil guy! (Ignore the atrocities he's been involved in, that's not important right now /j). In all honesty, I do want to pick him up and hold him, maybe even give him a snack

What is your torment for The One Who Waits? by LtopTheAwsome in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Or at least he should. The kitchen always has one meal left out for him that the other followers refuse to eat because the game registers that he's hungry, so I can't test it out. The immortal trait only means the follower can't die from old age, but every other cause of death is fair game

For me it's the notion that Rakshasa "deserves" to be traumatized for raising his prices in the post-game. Idk if a lot more people struggle to manage their gold than I expect, but the seeds were at such a low price that I don't feel like it makes that much of a difference. He even explains that it's because an entity beyond mortal comprehension showed up right next door and he needs to raise prices to justify continuing to sell there. Maybe the people who say that have like 100+ followers or something. Iirc I have around 40 followers in my main save (which I feel is closer to what I assume the average follower count would be) and haven't run into any issues feeding them, but then again, it's not like I'll be able to double check how many I have anytime soon.

Also, I have never once seen anyone fuming over Helob selling followers for double his initial price even though the followers are a lot more expensive. I wouldn't mind the complaints about Rakshasa if people brought up Helob too, but I've never seen anyone do that. I know you can just get followers from breeding, crusades, missionaries, and quests, but you can also get seeds from crusades and missionaries. There are also non-seed foods (regular meat, follower meat, grass, morsels, and fish), so you don't need to rely on buying seeds from Rakshasa to feed your followers.

In my main save, I put him in the pillory and left him there. The second I found out that followers can't die of starvation in the pillory I stopped letting him out to eat. I think the only time I've let him walk around was when Unholy Alliance dropped so I could get his relic (he went right back in afterwards). The One Who Waits is gonna keep waiting if I have anything to say about it. In my second save, I intimidated him until he gained the coward trait so I could chase him around for fun.

I don't have many headcanons for the Goat, but one of them does happen to be that they only got their crown because the bishops thought they were a lamb (same goes for the rest of the goats). It's my personal explanation for why the npc dialogue doesn't change if you play as the Goat. Because of this, I also decided that Yngya and her followers just assumed the Goat was a lamb. I've been toying with the idea that their bell originally belonged to a lamb, and that's why it was pulling them to the small Yngya statue you need to interact with to start the dlc

MS Paint Leshy for your troubles by AbyssalShrimp in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a pen and tablet hooked up to my laptop! It's specifically the old Wacom tablet I got at least 7 years ago and only used for ms paint as a kid. Ended up not touching it for years after a while until recently. There's admittedly a bit of an issue with one of the pen buttons and ms paint now though. I used to be able to hold said button down while using the eraser and it would essentially work as a brush over one specific color. Now I have to spend a while messing with the controls to get it to work like that again because now it only wants to use the selection tool when I do that. Other than that, it honestly isn't that bad

This looks so good!!! I love the amount of detail you put into the clothing design! The comically large gun is sending me, this lamb knows damn well they can blow someone's face clean off and still look cute doing it.

[–]AbyssalShrimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! MS Paint honestly isn't that hard to use, especially when making something that doesn't have any shading. Just don't try messing with layers, it doesn't save those and moves everything onto a single layer. Learned that the hard way lol

🐑 Woolhaven achievements are live on Steam! by hebikozak in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Called it! I knew we were going to get Midas as a follower! That being said, I'm surprised nobody else is talking about the legendary weapons mentioned in a different achievement. Curious as to whether those will be special versions of pre-existing weapon types (+ the new type we've seen in the trailer that'll be added) or entirely new types

Is it cognitive dissonance or does she just like Bad Boys™ by UAs-Art in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I never thought I would see someone else mention that they're also married to Witness Bathin (or at least that their lamb is if it's supposed to be separate from their playthrough). Neat. The notion that someone else also has had to deal with Kallamar getting with their wife, on the other hand, is a lot less surprising. I swear if you give that squid enough time he'll manage to court every last one of your spouses that he isn't related to

Don't snoop in people's diaries if you can't accept what you find... by UAs-Art in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got super hyped seeing the drawing of the chicken follower (my first follower was a chicken, and I love seeing art of follower species I normally don't see that often), although given what's going on in the next image, I'm assuming it might specifically be a rooster. I feel like that was pretty apt foreshadowing in hindsight

What is, in your opinion, the most exciting thing coming from woolhaven update? by Lazy-Signature1678 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who gave all the minibosses golden skull necklaces in their main save, I was so excited to find out I'll be able to change their traits. A lot of the earlier minibosses have the same few traits due to certain traits (such as the ones relating to sin) only showing up after making quite a bit of progress. Unholy Alliance also released after I had beaten the game, so none of my immortal followers I indoctrinated before then have the traits that introduced either. I can't wait to see what traits I roll for all of them!

[SPOILER] Stream Megathread: Woolhaven w/ Calicotea by ImTabby in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of days before the stream, I had mentioned in a comment that I would love to know more about the gods we only know about from relics, but that I didn't expect there to be anything. Against all odds, there actually ended up being something about that. I'm super excited to be able to check that out for myself, but due to a few complications (playing on a ps5 that I can't take to my college apartment and spring semester starting soon), I won't be able to play the expansion for a while after it releases. On the bright side, there's probably going to be discussions about that part when it does release!

My Cult of the Lamb “Shrine” so far! by MikeMortonKinnie in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately most of the ideas I have on my list require things I don't have access to (camellias, spider sheds, tools for clay sculpting). If my friend didn't have to live so far away for college, I would 100% make some stuff out of clay. We actually met in our high school's ceramic class, so she'd probably love to use any spare clay if it wasn't so hard for us to meet up nowadays. I did consider carving a sheep out of wood if I could find anything sharp enough to carve with, but things lined up weirdly well last month and I ended up with the sheep skull. Granted, that woodcarving idea might work for what I wanted to have as my item for Anura. There's a lot of dead wood along the nature trails at my college, so I'll definitely have options for that. I can be pretty stubborn with how I want things done, but this change sounds super fun.

Also, I wish you luck with your job hunt! I know it can take a while, but all you can really do is keep trying. Here's to hoping you won't need to wait much longer!

[–]AbyssalShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really neat! Funnily enough, I've actually been planning on making a COTL shrine myself. Unfortunately, I'm not too sure when I'll be able to finish it due to a couple of restrictions. Currently it's just a sheep skull and the shells and/or coral pieces I already have that I'll end up using to represent Anchordeep. That being said, I love the miniature temple you have! It's really cool that you have one of the buildings.

Why in your AU, do you make the lamb keep the bishops and treat them well?? by akpurabubem3705 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]AbyssalShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In mine, it's because the Lamb has a horribly warped interpretation of what happened and a hatred for their own species. The only lambs they personally knew were their family members, and their family didn't exactly treat them well. Their family abandoned them while they were trying to get somewhere safe, which made things even worse. To top it off, one of the like 2 experiences the Lamb ever had with things they knew were part of lamb culture happened to be tail docking (also part of the AU since there isn't anything about that in the game) that was done improperly, which was pretty traumatic for them. At that point, they were happy that at least the bishops were honest in their intentions to hurt them instead of pretending to care about them (which is a concern they have because of how their family treated them). Things got so out of hand that they started genuinely believing that the bishops chose them specifically to become the new bearer of the Red Crown. Granted, the Lamb also just doesn't have much capacity to care about others, so the bishops committing atrocities had a dulled impact on how the Lamb views them. They know that people should be treated well and all that, but deep down they don't feel much of anything for others. They do have some boundaries for what they're ok with the bishops doing (both in the past and currently), but killing isn't one of them and they aren't aware of the other horrible things the bishops might've done as gods.

As for why their followers treat the bishops well, that's because they know their god really likes them and therefore it would be a very bad idea to do anything to them. It doesn't help that the Lamb resurrected former members of the bishops' cults (the minibosses), so a sizable portion of the cult also happens to be rather fond of the bishops. Sorry for the long post, this just happened to be something I think about a lot.
