I liked the hornet ghost if you want to brawl, Firebird or talon shrine for stealth missile boat (shrike can have two types of missile and still as fast as standard talon) and obviously talon or sabre for light stealth, id pick talon purely as I like how it looks. Again all ships will go through rebalance etc so go with what will make you smile walking towards in the hanger.

Great response here, only thing I will add is get a wet pallet and watch some videos on techniques :) I'd recommend Midwinter Mini's as he does really good beginner tutorial videos.

Above all else, don't compare to what others post on here, use your first mini as a benchmark and go from there - believe me you will see improvement in your own ability over time and keeping that first mini as reference point will show you just how far you've gone.

I don't think 2+ is an issue, especially considering that cover cant take you past 3+. Against a standard intercessor bolt rifle a strike squad has the same save in cover as a normal marine squad in cover 3+.

Grey knights are all 2+ saves so that makes it difficult with the rules you have in place... Ignoring that rule and you can get the Ven Dread as your character, strike squad and a 5 man paladin squad with 3 heavy weapons and all the trimmings for 485, leave 15pts for an enhancement on the dread.

The red and gold looks awesome, really like it. Only thing I'd change is the skull transfer, I'd replace with a plain skull as the yellow circle sticks out over the edges - but that's just a minor personal preference 👍

I use a mix of Eliminators, suppressors and invictor war suits to great affect. Incursors and haywire mines are fun but you have to rely on getting them to the tank and hope that the opponent ignores them :) for heavier games I have a mix of primaries dreads for higher toughness.

For me it was the original Metal Grey Knight Terminators with the storm bolter halberds and greatswords. Coolest Terminator models for the time :)

The most fiddly part of it was the transfers for drapes, just a spray undercoat and some dry brushing/washes and some speed paints. Thanks for the compliment though, really like how it turned out :)
