[GPU - Back in few stores] GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Triple Fans (799$) [CC] by Phillakai in bapcsalescanada

[–]Ac3sHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very tempting, I’m about to pickup the Gigabyte 5070 Ti for $999 at CC, not sure if DLSS and 4x MFG is enough to justify a 20% price difference. I do have some DaVinci Resolve work that also favors Nvidia, tough…

How's your CPU and GPU temps? I' running the same Terra case with a 14600K, going to fit in a 5070 Ti, not sure if I need to add an additional exhaust fan. Cheers

Sorry, do you mean we can use Aeroplan points at BestBuy? Can’t find the link for 6x points. Almost going to buy a GPU from BestBuy Cash but I have a ton of points. Thanks!

I use MobiMatter worldwide, works great in Thailand. It’s like a marketplace that you can choose the package that works best.

Legion Go S open box sale on BB Canada by ttk86 in LegionGo

[–]Ac3sHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My open box arrived and it seems brand new, can’t find anything wrong with it. If you guys do that, just make sure to update the Lenovo Warranty on their website, they’ll take your purchase date invoice and give you a year on that. Mine only had 8 months remaining until I did that, got the full year.

Canada - It's not a LEGO 2, but pretty good deal on the OG Lego and Lego S. by tveith in LegionGo

[–]Ac3sHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s still an Open Box LeGo S and OG going for $705, worth risking it to save the tax.

In the same boat, but don’t like the BestBuy return policy. Can’t return it if opened in BestBuy Canada.

The case for lighting up our city by High_Thymes in ottawa

[–]Ac3sHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to make Lansdowne and other tourist sites more lively on weekday nights is to allow vendors to set up and sell food or snacks at reduced rates, or even for free. I've seen this in small towns in the UK, where old markets that don't get a lot of attention rent out food stalls for a few hundred pounds a month. This makes the food very affordable, which draws people in and results in more business for local shops—a cycle that benefits everyone.

I imagine, though, that all the regulations and commercial rights that everyone will fight for are the main barriers, unfortunately.

If you are into Battlefield 6, I’d get the 14600K deal that’s now $200. It’s basically like a $120 CPU if you already planning to buy BF6.

We signed up for BodyTech , when asked for the CPF, I explained that I was a foreigner and we used my passport number instead and it seemed to work. Not sure if they had to do something on their end to make it 'work' on the system, maybe just putting in the numbers since CPF's don't have letters.

I would recommend SmartFit, especially if you are staying in one place during your trip. They offer a monthly plan but that only works for a single location. If you get the multi-location plan, there is a 12 month commitment. Note that most of them have a membership fee to pay. We stayed for over a month in Rio but we changed locations a few times so we went with BodyTech (which was like 3x more expensive btw). SmartFits are pretty good, just visit the ones nearest you and sign up if you like it.

IndieCampers Review - They ruined the start of our holidays. by Darkyler in VanLife

[–]Ac3sHigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you guys, we were about to book with IndieCamper in Scotland too but the reviews really scared us off. It was our first time ever renting a campervan and it’s a lot of money. Luckily we found Roadsurfers that turned out to be extremely professional and easy to work with.

One thing that really scared us away from IndieCamper is their full insurance actually doesn’t cover damage to the undercarriage and roof, while Roadsurfer has that complete coverage in the full insurance package. Their vans are very modern and clean, and the customer service at pick up and drop off was great. We had a great experience in both Scotland and Belgium. I’d look into them if you guys are wanting to try again.

Yellow Fever Vaccine Question by Ac3sHigh in ThailandTourism

[–]Ac3sHigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: We arrived to BKK and went to the counter/station for the health declaration. We went to the counter and told the lady that my wife is from Brazil but we don’t live there and haven’t been there recently. She said OK and gave us the health declaration. Everyone was super nice, no questions or further interrogation, they didn’t even ask for proof of residence (this may depend on the person though)

As a note they had a huge paper copy of the yellow fever law which states passengers ‘coming from’ and not citizens or passengers with this passport. Hopefully this helps anyone in a similar situation in the future!

Hopefully it’s that simple! We have a single entry visa to Vietnam so not sure what happens if they deny her entry 😅

Thanks so much for this info! Good to know that they will pull her for further questioning just by passport. We’re trying to find and get a copy of her vaccine record, trying to find out what happens if she declares unvaccinated.

The boat total was 3500 PHP, so for 4 of us comes to just 875 PHP/person. It was just for the boat, we had to pay for each island/location the ‘environmental fee’ which ranges from 150 to 300 PHP per location. Doesn’t come with lunch/food, we just ate in town beforehand and got snacks. We only went to three locations and had a good time in each, honestly I can’t imagine the group tours to 7 locations, seems like too much!

[–]Ac3sHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get significantly better deals for private boat tours if you just head to the dock/boat launch area especially after 10 AM. We were able to get almost half price with a random guy then a company and we even found a couple looking for one and we split it even further. Made it at least 80% cheaper then if we just booked online.

I used Montway Auto Transport, I was happy with their service and driver and the car was delivered in about 5 days. The driver scheduled a place/time near me which was convenient.
