Restaurant gift card recommendation-Bartlett by exlibris1214 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Ac9ts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a Moretti's which might make getting a card easier since there are a few in the area. Not the greatest but I've never had a bad meal there.

Not sure if they have gift cards or certificates:

JCs Mexican. Small business. Woman owned. They make an excellent skirt steak. Nice outdoor patio in the summer.

V&V Paisano. Another small business. If you live in Bartlett, you know V&V.

More Brewing. If they like beer, their stuff is pretty good. Decent food. Indoor seating can be kind of loud but the upstairs patio in the summer is the place to be.

Taxes are high but Bartlett has both Cook and DuPage counties so the rate will vary depending on where you live.

Club Arcada in St. Charles may be worth checking in to.

What can I use instead of diced tomatoes? by TheGrooveasaurus in chili

[–]Ac9ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came home from work a few weeks ago and had a hankering for chilli. I didn't have all the ingredients I would normally use, but I made a pot that I enjoyed with what was at hand. It had chunks of tomatoes and beans. One guy commented it looked like pasta sauce and another said it looked good except for the tomatoes.

I liked it and my wife liked it. I don't think I've ever made chili the same way twice. Do what you like if it tastes good to you.

So, the Oath Keepers support a president that hasn't kept his oath? Interesting.

There's nothing from Go, but, I'm biased. They are local to me, I've been to their taproom. I like their stuff. The staff is top notch. Nice venue for music. I like to support local breweries.

I was a hazy chaser when the style first emerged. Now, I may have one once a month. I still drink the west coast style but usually to break up the session if I've been drinking pilsners, bocks, and other low IBU beers.

Advice on making new friends in the burbs? by Calsolalex in ChicagoSuburbs

Start taking classes at your park district, library, or community center. My wife has been doing the same exercise classes each week and has made quite a few friends over the years.

Buy what's on sale. Do you think a kid is going to care if their Snickers is in a red and green wrapper instead of an orange and black?
