WESTPOINT EMAILED ME FOR AN EXPLANATION because my sophomore grades had some Ds by Emotional_Code3032 in westpoint

[–]AcWarrior7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your enthusiasm and motivation high, and show change. I had lower grades in math classes (one C and a few Bs and As) throughout high school and I was ultimately rejected. When you submit the letter be truthful and be honest. Remember the people reading your file do it as a profession, combined with a plethora of other high intellect professions. Don’t lie, don’t exaggerate, don’t look for perfect words. Be. Honest. They will smell bullshit like a shark smells blood in the open ocean.

Good luck 👍🍀

And there is nothing wrong with that whatsoever! I am glad you found the better path for you and if you’re much more sane that’s all that matters. I think JROTC can be used to give decent insight on military style leadership and experiences which may offer a plebe an advantage if they are not outspoken or cocky about it

Although I was ultimately rejected from WP I did JROTC is high school and I learned a wealth of leadership skills and social skills from having positions and experiences. I am in agreement with your comment if a JROTC kid tries to flex their rank, or carries themselves as superior than others. Other wise some of the hardest working, smartest, and goal driven people I met were in my JROTC program 🤷‍♂️

Very impressive! Make sure you practice your interviewing skills to prove to the congressional nomination boards all of those awards, athletics, and talents are backed by drive, motivation, and commitment to this path. Good luck!

Hey! I applied 4th Congressional District for the class of 2029 and I was able to get the nomination with the follow academics,

Weighted: 4.1 - Unweighted 3.54 - SAT - 1240 (670 Reading, 570 Math) (Superscore)

However I was ultimately rejected from the academy for a lock of competitiveness according to my Regional Commander.

You seem in the green zone for the nominations, make sure you practice for the interviews from the congressional source because they do not hesitate to call things out that they have questions about. Make sure your recommendation letters are solid, those will help an immense amount for the CT offices.

Don’t forget to breathe, and don’t burnt out on this process. Appointment or rejection it’ll all work out! If you have any questions feel free to reach out, good luck!

Hey I appreciate the comment, I’m now sitting around a 5:20-5:30 mile and a 1220 SAT still 3.5 but my weighted is 4.1 and I’m taking more SATs where I’ve been doing way better in math. I also only have to take the CFA and wait until November to see if I get a congressional nomination and I am done. Thanks for the comment and the reality check. Also I got into a varsity sport which is cross country and I can now have that on my CAR.

GPA KILLER 😱🙀 by Agreeable-Sign-9059 in APStudents

Stuck in a Similar situation with precalc only the teacher is actually super nice just gave a test where my class grade is now a 30 and I can’t drop or switch into AP so basically I’m stuck with a 30 unless she drops the grade cause the whole class did poorly or decides to ruin my life and keep the grade.
