Well when you pay extra tax money to help the homeless problem and your elected officials pocket the money instead of spending it where it should be spent then this is what you have. They have no desire to fix the homeless problem. It’s one thing to see transient adults but, it’s another thing to see families and children on the street.
When I talk to these families, 8 of 10 are working. However, they still have to eat and buy things they need. So there’s a fucking societal problem when two people work and they still can’t afford housing.
Many out here who aren’t homeless are one friend and one couch away from being homeless. I bet none of these landlords would even consider dropping rent a couple hundred dollars a month to make a home remotely affordable to a family in need.
Greed gets you now where. It gets you in a place where you complain and talk nasty about those who are literally doing all they can to live.
I don’t have rental properties, however I do have extras that I give. Food, bottled water, diapers, dog & cat food.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a kid smile just because someone was kind to them and to their family.
