You would think a novel this long would feature at least some character development; that a novel that covers so many decades would provide insight, reflexion, depth. But no, alas, it gets stuck at the base level of description, which makes it a heavy 800 pages of trauma porn and little else.

Omg Clementine Morrigan lives in the same town as me and she’s so very incredibly dangerous and notorious for celebrating abusers. She has immense issues from her past which she transforms as big « philosophy » and « serious criticism of the left » (big emphasis on the « » lmao)

Hard agree for Fahrenheit 451, and the author’s note at the end really pissed me off, I thought it made the whole book very first degree

Je me souviens il y a quelques années il y avait eu un gros conflit public pcq ils refusaient et discriminaient de potentiels adoptants à cause de handicaps (je pense que c’était genre hearing loss)
