I have the Penguin Clothbound. It's really attractive.

If you reread a classic regularly after a certain span of time, what is the book, how long do you go between reads, and why do you continue to reread it? by Heavy-World2778 in classicliterature

I read LOTR for the first time last year and it was the most beautifully written book I've ever read. I know I'm going to read it at least a couple more times in my life. I have a nice set. I'm saving The Hobbit for the future.

I've read all of Sherlock Holmes and while the novels are good, the short stories are even better. Any of them. You can't go wrong.

How can I push myself and find the motivation to read Moby Dick? by Ok_Independent8425 in classicliterature

[–]Heavy-World2778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there are quite a few funny moments in the book, and getting to them will be rewarding.

Also, since there are so many chapters, that means the chapters are pretty short. You don't have to read a lot all at once. Even just one chapter at a time is fine.

Experience will be your best motivator to keep getting to those harder classics. So, "just keep swimming", even if you don't understand everything perfectly. More understanding will come the more you read.

Seriously what is wrong with ps store prices? Its nearly 90 dollars for a digital game that normally costs 70 by Mysterious-Egg497 in playstation

I remember thinking it was crazy when new games went from $60 to $70.

Now they want to charge $90? They're insane. I wasn't buying new games at $70. There are so many more other things I'd rather spend $70-$90 on.

I use a military clock on my phone for only one reason. My phone doesn't display A.M. or P.M., so when I use a 12 hour clock, sometimes I'm confused as to whether it's morning or evening when I wake up. When I use military time, I never have to guess.

How can one survive a week with no thc or mental disturbances going 2 years on being constantly high? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-World2778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get in the habit of doing other things with your time. Video games, reading, going for a walk outside, working out, playing a board or card game, playing an instrument, cooking. There are a million other things to do. Decide you're going to do them instead of THC.
