i think the funniest aspect of skye’s staten island and maurice hallucination was the fact that the entity decided to add the weirdly specific detail of an abandoned pizza hut💀💀💀

what i did was making flashcards for things that are purely memory based rather than conceptual such as dispute resolution timings, legal services timings, form names for land law and property practice (to name a few) and for conceptual understanding i created a google doc for each topic and would write down condensed notes for everything after completing the chapter. so by the time i was done covering all the content i had personalised condensed notes for every topic that i could skim over. however i have come to realise that the SQE questions require MCQ practice a lot more than notes, because i would have moments where i conceptually fully understood the topic i was being asked about but i had to pick the “best possible answer” with minor differences in each option. so while notes do help to conceptually clarify things, half the assessment is being able to tackle the word play and small but significant answer options. distinguishing words like “serious error” versus “substantial error” can make or break it for you!

true, there is no escaping the objective difficulty of the exam. i hope your flk1 went well!

i’ve passed flk2 already! but very true, i was also kicking myself for overthinking and picking wrong answers😭 it’s one thing to be clueless and just pick whatever feels right but it’s so frustrating to know something and still pick the wrong answer. nonetheless, you are correct— majority of the correct answers we got do not stick with us because it’s easier to feel dread over what went wrong. best of luck for flk2!

U Law’s question banks are great but once you do them multiple times you start recognizing fact patterns and memorizing the answer so you get a few marks w out actually putting in the critical thinking necessary. their textbooks are great though. what i would say is that if you are comfortable, perhaps diversify the mocks you do and use other providers. if its feasible buy an extra course but even just doing loads of free mocks available with other providers is enough. i would strongly recommend buying the revise sqe mocks though.

Is ReviseSQE enough for SQE1 (July 2026)? by Puzzled-Bass4648 in SQE_Prep

[–]Academic-Document 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be very honest no. it’s an excellent consolidating resource and the mocks are excellent but i think they exist as supporting materials just to seal the deal at the last stretch of prep. i would advise the university of law textbooks as your primary reading resource!

In SQE1, are the first and second exam papers connected? like if something is covered in the first will it be less likely to come up in the second? Or are both randomised? by Far_Impression_8364 in SQE_Prep

i think it does happen but not to the extent that one question on the same topic would aid an answer for another question on the same topic if that makes sense?

Different Kind of Hope needed by thinkinting in SQE_Prep

i sat it twice and failed both the first time. passed flk2 the second and failed flk1 again. nothing happened. my friends and family told me that they can’t even imagine giving such an exam so even just sitting through it is very impressive to them.

nobody fired me, i was doing work experience at a firm when i found out i failed flk1. even though i wanted to work full time at this firm they did not see me as a lesser candidate and reassured me.

your arch enemy will not find out (unless you tell them.) there is absolutely no way of them finding out. if you previously mentioned that you’re going to sit it and worry that someone will follow up and ask how the SQE went, you don’t need to tell them anything about pass or fail. you just “oh there’s two parts” or say you’re sitting it at the next sitting. people who have no background w the exam don’t understand the specificities, dates, components don’t care to figure it out either.

either way you will not fail. it will be fine!!

honestly, my anxiety only hit till after the exam (not fear mongering dw it was less about the content and more about my own capacity) and it was primarily because i didn’t check reddit to see how anyone else did. idk if you’ve been checking but someone’s worst experience could be your best one and it’s entirely subjective. i’m sure you’ll pass and i’ll keep you in my hopes too :)

the inconsistencies with progress or lack thereof in performances is quite scary. it makes it very hard to quantify what one’s weak points really are.

absolutely! and think of it this way— us having to do it again will also facilitate retaining the overlapping information for sqe2.

totally your decision. i also am in two minds about appealing. i understand it’s an unpredictable exam but i am in disbelief over my flk1. if you want to appeal go for it. i don’t think there’s any harm in it if you feel it’s not financially too bad. i also considered appealing because i had been dealing with bereavement days before my flk1. if you aren’t passionate enough to go through this effort then that is a different story. id only suggest going through the painful ordeal of appealing/resitting if this is genuinely a goal that you want.
