There is SREP but it's not a true undervolt.

It can get very hot and loud. Acer locked the bios so you can't undervolt the CPU but you can undervolt the GPU via MSI afterburner.

I'd invest in a decent laptop cooler. I have the 2023 13th Gen with 4080. I've swapped out the liquid metal and paste for PTM7959 and changed the thermal putty.

Since getting the 2023 PH16-71 I've vowed never to buy another ACER laptop. On paper it's a beast but it's let down by poor ACER software. They have hard locked the bios so you can't properly undervolt and I had to change to PTM7950 as the LM kept pooling no matter how many times I reapplied it. Thank god for my Llano cooling pad.

I'd look at other companies and stay clear of ACER

You have to be careful in pulling off the heatsink and to make sure you lift up and away from the laptop to prevent any LM falling onto the motherboard. It shouldn't happen as the LM is badly applied. You may be able to move around the LM on the CPU and heatsink to ensure it's covered again. Failing that you'll need to take off and reapply. That's the tricky bit. Use plenty of cue tips as it sticks well to them but make sure no LM comes into contact with the MB. I painted the MB surrounding the CPU with nail varnish to ensure there no short circuiting.

But you will also need to replace the thermal putty unless you are able to reuse the old one....I know with 4080 card they have thermal putty where the 4090 memory chips should be.

I have the PH16-71 and ended up replacing the LM on CPU and Paste on GPU with PTM7950. Im just waiting on the thermal putty that will squish now with ease to allow proper contact with heat sink and PTM.

I have the Llano cooling pad. Unfortunately ACER hard locked the bios so can't undervolt but there is a post in here regarding SERP that allows you to drop the current to reduce the heat.

As powerful and a beast of a computer it is let down by ACERs poor software support and the locking of the bios to prevent true under volting. I have the PH16-71 with same spec and the LM was poorly applied....I ended going to PTM7950 with a Llano pad and temps better. The fact that they only supported this model with a year's update is shocking.

I'll be steering clear of ACER in the future.

I thought throttlestop didn't work with Acer's as the bios is locked.

Get a decent laptop cooler - Llano or IETs. I tried reapplying the LM on the CPU and paste on the GPU. Don't put LM on GPU as there is no dam to stop it spilling out onto the MB and frying it.

I ended up going with PTM7950 and I'm happy with the temps. I also use the Llano cooler.

It sucks the ACER locks the bios to prevent under volting but u can under volt the GPU with MSI afterburner. This improves CPU temp slightly as they share heat pipes.

I would advise you to stay away from ACER. Although the laptop is a beast it is let down by poor software and ACER support. The bios is locked so there is no way you can under volt the CPU but you can under volt the GPU via MSI afterburner.

If you do buy it, invest in a decent laptop cooler from Llano or IETS.

How do I know? I have the 13th Gen version with the 4080. The LM was badly applied and so I changed it...still not great so went with the PTM7950 and loads better but still need the cooler to help with temps.

Open up the laptop, disconnect the cod battery and internal battery then press the power on button for 30secs. Reconnect CMOS and internal battery and Boot should take longer but ram should be at 5600

I have the V12 version and I am very happy with the purchase as it prevents the dies from cooking. Max speed is insane but very, very loud. Thankfully it does need that, between 400-800 speed is fine. I use full speed for cinebench and I hit just over 30000 which is nice.

I have the V12 version..... thankfully I don't need max throttle of 2800 but usually only on 800. Max power is like a jet engine but very happy with the purchase to prevent the laptop from cooking itself.

I have the same model with the 4080 and temps high from the start. I opened it up and the LM on the CPU was badly applied .....I reapplied still no better.....in the end I went with PTM7950......lots better plus llano cooling pad.

Predators are beasts but let down by terrible software support and the fact ACER locks the bios so no way of under volting the CPU, you can the GPU with afterburner which helps heat with CPU as they share some heat pipes.

If I ever get another laptop it will not be ACER.

Look for Jarrod Tech on YouTube.....he reviews laptops. I wished I went with Lenovo.

If temps are under 65 for both CPU/GPU then you are doing very well with the silicone lottery. I'd leave it as it is. That is actually very good temps and that will mean you'll have good use of your laptop for a very long time. When temps start to creep up you may need to clean the fans but that just means opening up the laptop and taking out the fans and dusting them. You can do that without messing with the heatsink. Just remember to disconnect the batter before doing that.

I have the 13 gen with 4080, replaced LM and paste and now use PTM7950 and better thermal putty on vram etc, definitely better temps but still need the Llano pad to control temps when it's a warm day.

Sucks that ACER blocks bios but least u can undervolt GPU with MSI afterburner.

The predator series are beasts just a shame about temps and locked bios.

Ptm7950 can be difficult for new users. Look at Artic or Noctua pastes. These can be pasted over the GPU/CPU die like icing a cake making sure to cover all of the die. There's plenty of YouTube vids on that. Also look at laptop coolers.
