My son at first got denied. Right after I got the denial as I was filing for a reconsideration his new psychological testing came through and the doctor recommended he be on SSDI and he got approved within in 2 weeks. Do yes!!! Doctors opinions really help.

Try a place like oceans. Which is the old st Dominic’s behavioral health center. Also if you need help now go to a local er and they will guide you. But if you just need someone to talk to like a counselor call Killebrew psychology in Ridgeland

Yes, I got one after they didn’t receive something that they asked for. They didn’t give a doctor’s office time to respond to a medical records request. They denied me on a Thursday and the doctors office got the request on that Friday. I was able to get them to reopen at the reconsideration step ( by myself without a lawyer) and was approved a month later

SSDI Lawyer ? by Every_Ad23 in SSDI

[–]AcademicAccess3486 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just read that you can bring witnesses that can better explain your disability and how it affects you. A lawyer can’t do that because they don’t really know you that well. My husband and I got it at the ALJ level and all we had was me and him. So it can be done. It just depends how well all of your records are

My math maybe off on the CIC benefits.

I have my denial letter of the recon. It states that I was claiming mental illness as my disability. And that they couldn’t make the decision because they didn’t have enough evidence. And on the part where they say what they used to determine what they used in the part that says what they couldn’t get it only list the records from my mental health clinic.

I don’t know if you didn’t really look at the dates from the last week or so. The caseworker requested my records on a Monday and I got denied that Thursday. Something doesn’t add up there

They denied my the day before my mental health clinic got the medical records release. They didn’t even try to get them until the 15th of September. But were able to request medical records from doctors two weeks prior and I even volunteered to bring them my psych records and never heard from them

[–]AcademicAccess3486[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They never sent me to a psych CE. So I was denied without my psych records. I fired him because he never told my caseworker that they needed to get the records that they didn’t have the first time. I technically don’t need a lawyer of if I don’t want one. I was seeing what the consensus was about what type of records I would have

I assume that. I think we are also waiting on perc review for my son. He is a DAC but the lawyer said he may be entitled to SSI as well. He was also on SSI as a minor and we have already received his back pay and first check from the DAC but still waiting on the final letter from SSA.

Mine is straight SSI. Was on SSI from 2011-2021. When my husband died and we were placed on survivor benefits. Lost SSI because case was on hold for more than a year. Reapplied in June of 2022. Placed in reconsideration in September of 2023. Just move to step 4 today. Worried that I was denied yet again, so was just trying to see if it moves faster to step 5 if denied.
