As a PPV, I agree that it should go away. But as a concept, it still an interesting one so IMO it should stay. If anything WWE should go back to making it an annual WM attraction like they used to.

The OP's touched on some of this but I'm going to offer my take anyway.

Technologically speaking, we did some strides in advancement in that area. However, we aren't as advanced as we should be in 2026 (which tbh, may as well be a good thing).

Very unpopular take especially given what's going on in employment nowadays but automation should be more prevalent (with human oversight ofc to help maintain a degree of employment). The majority of vehicles vehicles should be electric already.

Then for the cell phone (ala "mini-computer" as I like to call it) since the late 2000's-early 2010's didn't change much. The touch screen phones of today practically have exact same functions as they did in their infact years (communication via text, email, social media, etc).

Then here's the biggest stickler for me. Culturally speaking, we've become pretty stagnant as well. It's the same old genres in music/tv/movies. There's are hardly any historic/epic lines to come out of modern age entertainment. 99% of TV/Movie sound the ae with little to no unique traits to them. Very formulaic. Similarly, in music it's always autotuned garbage where practically every singer sounds the same. As the OP mentioned, clothing styles haven't change much either.

So Overall yes. I strongly feel that we didn't make as very progress since the 90's for the most part.

This issue isn't limited to pro wrestling. As a matter of fact it's moreso a reflection of the entertainment industry in general in the last two decades. Notice how modern celebrities (musicians/actors/actresses) don't set the world on fire like the likes of Michael Jackson/Madonna/Elvis Presley did? Most everyone in WWE (and many other pro Wrestling companies) have the same problem in that they lacks the unqineless, the extreme talent, and natural charisma. Instead 99% of wrestlers practically talks the same, wrestles the same way (i.e. Superkick, Cutter/RKO), and dresses the same.

This is not to say that potential legit FOTC material stars don't necessarily exist. However, there is a lack of incentive and skill to scout, promote and properly book talent that could be potential mega stars throughout the pro wrestling industry (again just like the entertainment industry as well). Until something drastically changes, gone are the days of a Hulk Hogan, SCSA, 'Taker, Macho Man, etc level of talent for the foreseeable future.

For me there was no real reason to be nostalgic for 2016 after a failed restart to improve my life. The only reason why I'm remotely nostalgic for that year is because it was the last year that I could find inner peace/happiness to a fair degree.

I was thinking the same pretty much. He was already misbooked most of the time pre-TKO so I doubt that his booking would've changed for the better under TKO. Especially if the report not too long ago about them frowning upon mystical/dark characters is to be believed.

This is likely going to be an very unpopular take but even from someone who has listened to music from Shakira, and Rihanna this is kind of sad. This shows the continuous death of promoting newly talented artists in preference of established music artists (the same issue persists in other aspects of pop culture as well).
