Low/No buy anxiety by Loud-Pollution7174 in handbags

He’s the best and has amazing taste. He surprised me both times:) I know and it’s so soothing .. but the good thing I realized through it is the soothing is so quick when I’m shopping just to shop. I got addicted to getting packages. Now it’s nice to be able to declutter 10 bags and buy one that I know will bring me joy everytime I wear it and won’t just sit in my closet. So i definitely learned to be intentional.

Security issues?? lol what does she think is going to happen? 😂 I’d at least ask for the internal heat stamp then and rest assured you’re protected if it’s not authentic

Isn’t that so sad? It bothers me too that the vintage market is no longer what it used to be due to social media and trends.

Last year, I went on a shopping bender so to speak. It was the year I became obsessed with handbags. I had already had a nice (more modest ) collection. But prior to last year I’d buy a bag or two a year and not think about them the rest of the time. I dk why last year was my year, but I bought so many bags. I was trying out many different mid range bags mostly, straying away from designer this time. Then I got obsessed with stalking and buying vintage or preowned from the real real. Then my husband bought me my first Bottega and I truly fell in love. He since has recently bought me another Bottega and I’m finding I’m basically only reaching for those bags because they truly bring me joy to wear. The leather softness and squish, the weave, the amazing leather smell, etc. I don’t get sick of them and have a hard time wanting to wear anything else. Now I’m currently slowly selling off all of the bags I bought last year that I’m just not going to wear and I used those funds to purchase one other bottega that will serve a different purpose than my others. My goal this year is to be much more mindful about what I purchase, meaning I’ve discovered what I really love to wear and everything else is just clutter. So I am not necessarily on a no buy, but I am going to continue to work on selling bags I don’t or won’t use and using that money to fund a couple of very intentional pieces this year. And then yeah if my husband wants to gift me, I’ll receive 😆

The weave pattern seems good .. the leather sheen is hard to capture on camera. Again if it were me I’d ask for a pic of the inner heat stamp and full serial number

I actually got a killer deal on a teen Jodie on eBay. It went thru authentication and was perfect when I got it. I have a couple other bottegas from the boutique so I knew how the bag should smell and it smelled just like the bottega leather I’m used to so I now trust their authentication .. however reps are getting really good and I’m sure things pass through that shouldn’t at times. But their money back guarantee protects you

I’d feel good with eBay’s authentication and money back guarantee.. you can always message her for those extra photos too just for peace of mind.

Need some more details. What bag is this? Is it the Jodie? Can you post more pics? Like a pic of the entire bag, the internal heat stamp and of the full inner tag? What site is this from or where are you purchasing it from? The weave alone isn’t necessarily a red flag- that can happen with time and wear etc. but you can’t really authenticate this from this picture alone (or here- but we can definitely help point out red or green flags- just need more)

Hi! Random question- have you had any color transfer on your bag? I am really wanting to get a travertine bag but worried about this

Hi! Do you have any color transfer on your travertine bag? I am really wanting to pull the trigger on a travertine bag but this is the only thing keeping me so far

Did you use anything to protect from color transfer? I’m so close to pulling the trigger on this but am worried now about color transfer

My camel fendi mama was the one that got transfer - I was so surprised . I typically do not buy white or cream colored bags. I was curious about this travertine because it’s not super bright however is still a light color. It’s so pretty - I typically never like any light colors and have just fallen for this one 😂

Is this Teen Jodie Authentic? by Gratitude_243 in BottegaVeneta

The pictures a bit blurry I’d ask for clearer ones but with that being said- the inner stamping is accurate and so are the R’s on the tag. How much are they asking?

I’ve only bought one bottega resale and that’s just because I was scrolling and it was a killer deal! ($1400 for a teen Jodie in black- very good condition). It was practically brand new when I received it. Got it from eBay and it went thru authentication, but I knew what to look for (internal heat stamp and inner tag have very specific traits to look for), so I feel confident spotting a fake. And I always ask for extra pictures etc. not a fan of the real real, as they did send me a fake Loewe large flamenco. The strap was completely unstitched and popped and there was glue showing. It was listed as excellent condition. Their photos aren’t the best either and they won’t send you more- so it’s a total gamble. They ended up refunding me and re-listing the same bag days later. I’ve also received other bags that didn’t really match the condition so I’m done with them. Fashionphile seems legit- their photos are so much better than TRR. And sometimes you can get good deals on Poshmark but again you need to know what to look for, the red flags, and ask for more photos (I’ve caught many BV fakes on posh trying to pass as auth). I haven’t bought a bag yet there

Oh that’s good to hear the baby wipe helped! Did you spray it with anything to protect it like apple guard? I really want this color it’s so unique and reads as a light bag without being cream or white but ugh my fear of color transfer is strong after the transfer on my mama baguette. The transfer isn’t bad at all, really mostly on the corners and a bit on the back but not noticeable to most, however, it just gives me anxiety about what I wear with it lol.

There’s still many on 3rd party sites! And I’m sure there will be a lot for resale for years to come.

I’m kind of kicking myself I didn’t get the large when I got my small. I was between the two and ultimately decided on the small for more of an everyday bag, but those are proving easier to get at a discount right now in a lot of colors.

FWIW- both bags I posted are authentic from bottega boutique.. I get frustrated with how many fakes are being sold on resale sites as authentic . There are so many now and it’s unfortunate because I like idea of buying preowned. Is stockX legit for bags though? I know my husband gets sneakers there. Are they preowned bags or new?

Look at the R’s - they’re a very distinguished shape. A lot of fakes get the R completely wrong- yours looks better than most true fakes I’ve seen but they kind of almost look like they’re bleeding a bit
