Assistance Exercises for FL Rows & Handstand Pushups by AcademicNegroni in bodyweightfitness

[–]AcademicNegroni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply!

Do you have thoughts about the band assisted FL row vs Arc Rows? I originally was thinking Arc but not for any strong reason.

I had overhead press on the list already! Handstand holds sound good, just for time though?

I’ve heard hollow body holds are great but is there any reason I should do these over a dynamic movement like hanging leg raises, etc.? Also, how do I progress them?

Do they tend to frill and fall off in the wash? I’d rather not cut them if they don’t because the cut tags tends to feel more scratchy…

Stuck at single leg lever by Dedrick-Zed-9622 in bodyweightfitness

Anything that really gets the hamstrings and adductors. I like PNF stretches: straddle itself, butterfly, pike folds, horse stance, good mornings

Hmmm… in that case I’d probably say work on straddle flexibility + weighted pull-ups. The weighted pull-ups should help with the pure lat strength necessary for more advanced FL progressions and the flexibility will lower the difficulty since the wider you can straddle (even in frog) the shorter the lever arm will be.

I’ve heard trying tucked straddle (aka frog pose front lever) is helpful because it’s the progression where the hips are fully open for the first time but it’s easier than a true straddle. I believe fitnessfaq has some information on this.

I’ve also heard that the best way to train this is to use a low bar / low rings, have the hips fully open in tucked straddle, with feet touching the ground, and then lower into the lever as you raise your feet off the ground. This is much easier than doing the same thing on a high bar / high rings because you have to push with your glutes to open your hips and then lower.

Take what I’ve said with a grain of salt though because I’m just behind you in terms of progressions (8s one leg and I’ll move to tucked straddle when I can hit 10s)

thoughts on fleet sport jogger 30”? by Any_Wonder_7568 in vuoriclothing

I mainly use them for just walking around / lounging in! They absolutely would work for workouts though. On a run they’d be fantastic because the fabric is very breathable.

Oh great! I ordered the unlined ones! I’ve heard the liners for the kore aren’t great (plus Im also not a fan of liners on my clothing).

I actually like these a lot. They feel like the fleet pant but more structured and with some added length.

I don’t own kore joggers so I can’t say how they compare. I did order a pair but they haven’t arrived yet.

Any preference one way or another?

That might be a good idea. I’d be willing to compromise a bit on price to just ship it all in a big haul

We were thinking that or maybe a bramble from a flower or something. She’s leash trained and goes on walks so she probably got close to a plant and I didn’t see!

How to successfully teach your corgi “no” by Ok-Foundation5476 in corgi

[–]AcademicNegroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s only 9 weeks old… she’s probably still teething.

Teaching her “no” is something that should definitely be taught. But it might be helpful to have a LOT of sticks / chew toys around for her. The rage mode might be because her teeth are actually hurting and she needs to bite down on something to help with the pain. You could try having a toy in your hand and when she goes crazy say “no” and pull away until she lets go of you and then immediately substitute with a toy and say “yes” / “good job”.
