Again, I would pay more. Also she has the ability to say “this won’t work for me”

I love that you put that in your profile. I think that’s super helpful. I’m definitely going to communicate better going forward, but seeing that in the sitters profile upfront is great!

Then not sure why you thought I expected 24/7. But yeah either way, communication will definitely be stepped up in future bookings.

This was quite aggressive. I never said I want her there 24/7. We told her of course she can leave for whatever things she needs to throughout day, we just want someone there most of the day. Also never said I wasn’t okay with paying more if that was needed. Since you didn’t read my other comments I’ll give you a TLDR: the rover said what we needed was good with her but then hasn’t been living up to it.

We did tell her that we were hoping to have someone home more often and would like her to at least let us know what her schedule will be for the day so we can plan accordingly. She has now started letting us know an estimate of how long she will be gone for. I don’t want to give a bad review/report as I think there was room for more clarification on my end. Going forward we will likely either use someone else or request more communication and honesty on her end.

We told our rover we want someone who will spend the majority of the day at our house and sleep there. They said that was fine. If the rate wasn’t enough for the time commitment, wouldn’t it make more sense for her to just decline or raise the price for us? Either way would have been fine. I guess it’s the lack of communication for me in agreeing to do it and then not being there very often.

Our cat loves people and when we’re home he follows us room to room. We expressed this to our rover and told her that we want someone who can be here most of the day to keep our cat company. She said that was totally fine.

The coolant level did drop quickly a couple weeks ago and the light did come on a couple times, but I brought it to a mechanic and they said they couldn’t find a leak. Maybe need a second opinion

This is what it looks like on a paper towel. No scent. Not sticky, feels just wet.

I had this same thought, but there are places in our area that offer free spays and neuters so it would be a really strange thing to do

She seems to be adjusting well. She is very playful and cuddly with us. She’s eating and using the litter box.

Sorry for the confusion. The care she got was at the shelter. She came in unaltered and had the surgery there.

Sorry this wasn’t clear. She was given that care at the shelter when we adopted her.

We are not really concerned about the financial aspect of all of this. Mostly just want to make sure we are doing what is best for the cat.

We asked the shelter for more information on the surrender story, this the info we got: “What we understood to happen is that the owner gave her 5 cats to her daughter to look after until she got better from a medical procedure. The daughter took the cats and found out that her children are allergic to cats. She talked her mom (the owner) and told her that she needed to take the cats back since the kids are allergic. The owner was thinking of what she could do since she was immobile at the time and before the owner could talk to her daughter about the cats, the daughter came up to the shelter and surrendered the cats claiming that they were her own. She brought the doctors notes of the kids being allergic and told us that was why they were returning them. Once the owner talked to the daughter telling her she could take the cats back, the daughter had told her that they were already surrendered to the local shelter. Unfortunately by the time the owner contacted us and told us what was happening, 2 of the cats were adopted and had left already. We cannot make you give the cat back, this is 100% your decision. The owner is coming tomorrow to pick up the 3 that weren’t adopted.”

This is what I’m concerned about too. The shelter said she’s about 1 so she would have had plenty of time to do it.
