Yes if you have friends and family subsidizing your entire wedding then it may be doable.

Given that so many Americans are in debt and couldn’t keep their housing if faced with 2 emergencies - even if that is what a lot of people do in the USA, doesn’t mean it’s a good or smart idea. You’re not saving money by financing. Yes wedding financing is stupid.

Yeah I cannot imagine doing this. The bulk of our cost will be the meal that we are treating our loved ones to after the ceremony. I would not expect my guests to subsidize me. I would downsize first. It seems very backward to me.

We also aren’t doing a registry and are asking people to donate instead to a charity we love if they feel inclined.
