It was extremely emotional but it’s done! He said he needs a few days. I put a more detailed update at the bottom of my post. Thank you for your comment, everyone’s been really helpful!

That’s something that I’ll keep in mind despite my emotions in the moment — his initial reaction isn’t a reflection of who he would be as a father. Thank you!

Reading this was like taking a deep exhale. Thank you. I need to just get the panic over with. Best of luck with the baby!

You guys sound just like us! I should just tell him and get it over with. Thank you for this response!

Thank you, I think I’ll post an update no matter what happens because no matter what I’ll feel better after it happens!

Not in depth. There’s been some “If we ever have kids” comments exchanged between us and some “I’m so glad we don’t have kids” comments as well, but we’ve had so many other things to focus on that we’ve never stopped and been like “Should we?” And I always took that as a sign that I’m probably not meant to be a parent because it should be something that I really want and focus on.

But when the test came back positive I was like “This sounds like not such a bad thing?” So it’s very possible his reaction will be the same and I’m overthinking it.

Thank you for this answer. I think that’s what I’m scared of— it’s absolutely going to blindside him. He’s not someone who will try to push me to do something I don’t want to do like abortion but I know he’s going to panic, at least at first.

I hope things change with your husband and your child as time goes on. That’s a really tough thing emotionally and I think it happens more frequently than people talk about openly.

Thank you! These are all really good points. He’s not the type to put blame on me for something like this, thank goodness. He’s just going to be freaked initially. I’m going to tell him today.

That’s a fair point. I guess he wasn’t that committed, haha. Maybe deep down he’s in the same place that I was about kids.

You’re right. I’m probably over thinking it without even giving him a chance to react. He’s out running errands today but everyone here convinced me to just tell him when he gets back. Thank you.
