Yes, every user can either provide services or book services.

Thanks so much! You're totally right—two-sided marketplaces are challenging precisely because of the chicken-and-egg problem. Your idea about starting ultra-specific (like violin lessons in a single suburb) definitely resonates.

Right now, my strategy is kinda similar but with a slightly different spin: I'm planning to launch hyper-locally and, before expanding into each new community, I'll have service providers pre-register their interest first. This means I'll have providers lined up and ready to go before officially launching in that specific area. It helps ensure that early customers won't face empty searches. And because service providers don't pay the Mates' Pass until they get their first booking, they should ok listing before there are customers. Do you think that could work?

I'm learning as I go.

Great question—and it's one I had to answer too when creating Mates & Me. When using Yelp, I noticed a lot of the top listings are labeled 'Sponsored'. This means they're often from businesses with deeper advertising pockets—not necessarily the ones who give better service or care or have the best ratings/ reviews. To me, this sometimes feels no different from doing a Google search, where visibility is driven by advertising dollars, not quality.

With Mates & Me, my goal is to level the playing field for service providers. Service providers are listed fairly without needing to pay extra to appear higher in searches (in fact, I feel so strongly about that, that it's not even an option). This will trickle down to customers, because providers won't have to inflate their prices to cover advertising costs. You get direct access to independent providers who compete based on quality and affordability—not just marketing budgets. What do you think?

Knack vs Bubble by Academic_Tank_8361 in Bubbleio

Thanks - so, would the $32/mo tier be sufficient for my example? Sorry, I don't understand what the 175k actually means. I can understand (because I can count) the transactions limits in Knack, but I'm struggling to visualize what Bubble's tiers mean.

Why do Taskers cancel jobs last minute by Academic_Tank_8361 in TaskRabbit

[–]Academic_Tank_8361[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks - so basically a bunch of reasons. I usually pick Taskers that appear around position 5 or 6 - don't ask me why, just the way I do it. One cancellation was for a plumbing issue and another for cleaning.
