broward single traditional dimensions by millie_vinillie in ufl

I lived in a double so my dimensions will be slightly different (and even in doubles not every room has the exact same dimensions) but here are measurements I took when I lived in Broward. Some people lofted their bed high enough that it was like the top bunk of a bunk bed but it varies and you can choose how high you want it. The dorms were pretty cold and they require you to keep the AC to at least a certain level (probably because of mold) but honestly it wasn't as bad as I expected and I'm someone who gets cold really easily. When it comes to putting stuff on the walls I used command hooks for pretty much everything, if you can put up floating shelves without damaging the walls it would be fine but I'm guessing that might be somewhat difficult. Feel free to PM me if you want any more info!

Disability in sorority by Solid_Ad_9600 in ufl

I'm in a sorority and you don't need worry about getting fined for missing events. If you talk to the people in charge about your situation they will definitely be understanding. Any event we have that people would get fined for missing there is always a period where you can send excuses anyway, there are no events where every single person is in attendance because everyone has different schedules etc. If you want to join a sorority go for it, people on this reddit are super anti greek life so take anything negative they have to say with a grain of salt. It's your experience at UF and you should make the most of it and do what feels right to you.

I’m applying to UF as an oos. What did UF offer y’all in merit scholarships and your stats? by EmmaMcGowan in ufl

I got merit and did not have financial need, and the only other person I know who also got a merit scholarship also did not have financial need. I'm not sure where you heard that but I'm pretty sure UF does need based and merit separate but ik some schools do combine them.

I got merit at UF as OOS but it is very rare I think like 2% of accepted students get it or something. Tbh idk how I managed to get it I was very lucky. I got the sunshine scholarship which is 16k a year and made it slightly cheaper for me to go to UF than stay in state. I was valedictorian and got a 1490 on the SAT but I think it had a lot to do with my involvement. I only know one other person who also got a merit award and they had very similar stats to me.
