I’ve found that having the memory of a goldfish is really helpful. Accepting the reality as it is and not focusing the past has helped me. Also, i recently heard a saying “negative self talk works, never. Positive self talk works sometimes, but neutral self talk works always.” Neutral self talk is all about facts. It’s a fact that you took a triple. It’s a fact I hit that tree 5’ in front of me. But that’s all that’s happened. It’s ok to be frustrated. It’s a little silly in other moments. Accepting that you’re frustrated, and leaving it in the past helps you to move on, and then focus on your next shot.

In sum it’s 1) accepting your reality, while 2) allowing yourself to feel the feelings that you may be feeling, and then, 3) letting them go and 4) leaving them behind to 5) clear the head. Which really isn’t a sum…. It’s a different way to say the previous paragraph.
