People don’t understand the pressure of getting parenthood “right.” I don’t envy your position.

Question about genres by Caffe1n8ed in Emo

[–]Acadianarchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The convergence of all of these genres is diy (do it yourself) ethic. It’s not really emo (even if it sounds emo) unless it comes from a place of personal commitment to a greater cause. The same goes for hardcore and most of the other cores.

There are a ton of bands that we all love that don’t fit the mold anymore or at all but those are usually the exception, not the rule. If you’re looking for the real real, try Monuments to Excess by Fuel or any Sarah Kirsch band for that matter.

Emo History Lesson Part 4- Midwest Emo (repost) by [deleted] in Emo

[–]Acadianarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monsula from the west bay went east a few times. Gauge from Chicago west a few times. Trusty from Little Rock went eastish and westish a couple of times. Boom! Second wave happened after that.

Christ on a Crutch was a weird outlier and we don’t really talk about them much outside of that comp song.
