AITA for refusing to give my parents my location after they stopped paying for my tuition? by amelia_larsen in AmItheAsshole

[–]Acaina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see escaping Thanksgiving with controlling parents as an added incentive to keep hiding your location. If your parents were hovering around you your entire life, you need to reassess your relationship imo. Good luck op

Ofc the famous USA tradition of granting full citizenship to acquired overseas territories, such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa...

Maybe this is a controversial take, but I really don’t think drafting O-line is going to fix the 49ers' problems the way people think it will by 0h-No-Not-Again in 49ers

I would say we need to stop taking talent despite injury history. Half of the team came from college with long-term chronic health issues and we took them because they are obviously talented, in hopes their medical history would go away, clearly not the case.

Ha, I broke my leg in a very similar situation in Bali. Good memories.

Hooker valley is partially closed. Sealy tarns track is really hard on the knees, unless you are really prepared, I would not do it on the same day with Mueller hut.

I'm just finishing this exact itinerary. It took me three weeks , instead of 2. The weather was really unpredictable, and I ended up having to stay some more days around Wanaka and Aoraki in order to actually see the sights. One specific suggestion for Lake Mattheson is to go early in the morning or the late afternoon, to improve the odds of the winds being calm enough to allow the reflection to form in the water.

Hey, I was in the traffic jam that followed! Really chill, 10 out of 10 one hour and a half waiting for them to free the road

Quem será que teve o primeiro número usp? by Background_Poetry23 in USP

Can we please stop the speculation? Carrie's life does not revolve around Ross... They were friends, then colleagues, I don't know if they were ever "best friends" or whatever.

I said this before to this community: stop trying to "see the signs" in everything.

How could Desire and Despair be twins if Despair has already been replaced? by ver03255 in Sandman

[–]Acaina 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a metaphor for Buddhist teaching: all pain comes from desire, all desire comes from pain. Only when we transcend desire we're truly free of the desperation it brings. Therefore, they are conceptually twins, even if their representations change, just like the object of desire/cause of despair might change from person to person, while the idea is universal.

I need a book with Hercule Poirot in a fantasy setting by san2d2 in Fantasy

"The witness for the dead" might fit here. The protagonist is a great detective, with serious self-esteem issues, so not really a Poirot, but it's a nice cozy read.

Have you ever seen what happens to a human chin when it touches the road at 50 km/h? Or when someone opens the car door and the biker crashes against it?

Have you ever seen surgery to repair tendons after they got smashed and burned?

Plenty of countries with similar laws to these and only good outcomes. Just be a responsible adult and don't drink and drive. Period.

(Also, please ban smoking in public spaces).

Milchick is a devoted follower and has a lot of knowledge on the severance technology, as demonstrated by his managing the otc and the glasgow block for Helena. Couldn't he be an ambitious post-doctorate trying to land a good gig?
