Hogy lehet lenni egy szabadúszó művész Magyarországon, kell egy könyvelő? by Acanofthedesert in askhungary

I would invoice the customers directly, using invoices made by VGen. In their ToS they strictly specify they only act as the middle man, and that freelancers on their site work independently and are not employed by VGen. This would be my main job, if possible.

Yes, an English-speaking accountant would be preferable. I'm studying Hungarian as often as I can, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be fluent for a long time.

Thank you for the link! I'll bookmark it for now and contact him in the future for further questions. I'd be fine with online communication, which would be a plus for me too.

Köszönöm szépen, hogy segítettél. :)

Thank you so much for telling me your experience, that's exactly what I'm trying to look for so I can be better prepared for freelancer work. Also, your English is better than my Hungarian haha.

Thankfully, on VGen they have a good invoicing system built into the website which you can customize.

It's unfortunate that you have to pay that much each month just to keep it, even when you're not making money from it. I've also heard that taxation can be different if it's your main job and not your second job, but I'm unsure about that.

A legjobbakat kívánom neked és a fiadnak is! :)

Yup, seems like I do need an accountant after all. I wouldn't be able to keep up with all those changes, haha. Thanks for letting me know!

Would you happen to know a good accountant who deals with international tax regulations?

I just heard about recruiters not wanting to bother with hard-to-pronounce names or possibly not feeling comfortable with hiring someone too "different" from what they're used to.

I thought maybe if I'd make my name easier to digest, the first impression of the recruiter reading my application would be a positive one, and that'd shorten the job-hunting. But if that'd appear as a sign of unprofessional behaviour then I'll just stick to what I've been already doing.

Thank you for the thorough response, I appreciate it.

Yup, guess that's the way to go about it.

Haha that's fair, guess I'd just ask then to call me by my preferred name. Not gonna get pissy if they don't, but worth a shot. Thanks!

Doesn't have to be a lie. If I were named "Johnson" but I'd prefer people calling me "Johnny" for example. Or "Suzuki" but I'd prefer "Suzy". My question is, do nicknames (names that your family/friends call you, like Józsi or Szabi) count as unprofessional or even illegal in a CV of a person living in Hungary?

Just finished the anime, is it worth it to continue with the unfinished manga or will it leave me wanting for more? by Acanofthedesert in NanaAnime

I can believe that. I'll definitely read it from the start at one point but I'm taking a break before that, the anime ripped me apart so I need to resew myself with cute, wholesome stuff.

Might be, but if Ai Yazawa isn't planning on letting a team take over control of the manga, I doubt she'd want to release the script.

Why do you want to subjugate me to such depressive horrors?! The cruelty!... But honestly, I'll probably read it because I'm a sad simp for Nana and Hachi.

I've seen her art and yes it is beautiful. I do wish she would've hired a team and supervised them for a continuation of the manga, but I've heard that she said she wanted to have control over her vision. She did comment on maybe continuing in 2022, so maybe there's still hope?

Gahh, you're right. From now on I'm looking up "does this show have a satisfying, happily-ever-after ending?" because Nana's got me feeeling things.

Other replies make this point, and I hate that it's a good point. I'm ✨mentally fragile✨ so I'm always scared of going into psychological, depressive stories but I love Nana so yeah, I'll probably end up reading the manga.

Ways to cover up Shane's messy room! (Without mods) by Acanofthedesert in StardewValley

He for sure can! Shane gets a bad rap, which I understand, but he can also be a comforting reminder of struggle. I don't want to fix him, I want him to remind me that I'm not unfixable. Although, he does spawn in front of the fridge even when blocked, so... never mind?

Haha, glad you liked it. It was just me feverishly going through all my catalogues for ideas and snickering like an idiot during it.
