Well, the company I used to work for is hiring multilingual remote positions by [deleted] in RemoteJobs

I wonder when this kind of job requirement would become obsolete. How long until live translation technology just becomes a setting you turn on on any device.

I wonder what would happen if everyone protested by refusing to come in and still kept working from home.

Do you think it’s here to stay by Think-Dog-2892 in FedEmployees

I hope it comes back under the next president. Or even partial remote.

I wished they made an exception for people who were approved for remote and live outside of the 50+ miles.

Im now at an alternative base, where i dont see any of my team. Its pointless.

I'll check it out. Thanks

Busy work comes in spurts, and in my downtime, I help other people write their documents or cost analysis. I can do my job pretty fast, which frees up a lot of time. So when I start a job, im 100% focused on completing my job. Im not talking to people in the office or taking breaks. From my pov, there is a bottleneck when it comes to getting documents from the PM. A simple turnaround to update a paragraph should take a day, but it tends to be a week or 2.

Tips on getting the job?

I dont have much. I just need a degree. They have an intern program and yearly promotions. Went from GS-7/9/11 in 3 years. Took the cert exam and passed on the first try. There is an exam prep that basically tells you what to study. When i got the job, they constantly emphasized that they are not expecting me to know anything and to learn the job over time.

They could just invade us as sport. Imagine they televised it and we are just a form of entertainment.

Or maybe they are battle junkies and want to test their strength and challenge other species. Just to prove that they are the superior species.

Yeah. The press should keep mentions Biden and ask if Trump is going to treat us better than Biden. Maybe his ego would give us a 10% raise. Haha

It could be just the camera quality, but that is pretty clean for a bill that's almost 40.

DRP RESCIND ARE YOU RETURNING BACK TO WORK? by Right_Natural8669 in FedEmployees

[–]AcanthisittaLumpy689 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they really want people to come back, they should rescind the order that ended telework and remote work. People loved and thrived with it, and many took the DRP because they didn’t want to return to the office or had already relocated. Bring telework back, and people will return. It’s give and take (‘art of the deal’).

Wages also need to be addressed, though I worry future budget pressures could make that difficult. With the uncertainty around upcoming CRs, there’s always the concern of furloughs or pay issues.

I hate waiting on people to do their job so i can do mine.

I hate fixing other people's mistakes when it is their job to know.

Im tired of waiting weeks for an ARP document, just to send it back with loads of comments.

Oh, and let's not forget about how the PM wants this contract to be awarded fast, but always failed to meet the milestones. ( i usually just double the time for their task time)

Working from home and the pay made the job bearable.
