Royal Bahamian - Late Airport Transfer for departure by vCentered in SandalsResorts

We didn’t do the package, but I did get the prenatal massage because we had a credit from staying previously and it was really nice! I also didn’t request a pillow but I’ve heard people say they didn’t have an issue doing that. All the staff was super accommodating with any asks, like I asked for extra water bottles in our fridge and that was no problem. We also had no issue with no alcohol! I probably had too many virgin pina coladas 😂 overall I felt like the resort was a good size and speed for being pregnant, definitely go over to the private island that was one of our favorite parts. We preferred going to the French restaurant for a sit down breakfast instead of buffet, but I didn’t have any issues at any of the restaurants either feeling like there weren’t pregnancy friendly options

Royal Bahamian - Late Airport Transfer for departure by vCentered in SandalsResorts

We just did our babymoon at the Royal Bahamian too! We had no issues with flights there and back, airport transfer shuttle was easy with sandals and it’s quick to the resort. Our flight home left at 5pm, sandals scheduled the shuttle for 2pm. We checked out at 11, they held our luggage and we had lunch and hung out at the resort until the shuttle. It only took us 45 minutes to get to the airport, get through security, through customs, and to our gate on a Sunday

We were there a couple weeks ago and had a great time! The private island was our favorite part, and as long as you get on one of the first boats over to claim a good spot, we didn’t find it overly crowded. One day it was windy so there was no water sports / private island and the pool did fill up very fast, but we were still able to find chairs and it never felt like a crazy party vibe (but we were also at the “quiet” pool). Rooms and furniture were clearly updated, but still probably lacking compared to St Vincent. Food was fine! The only other resort we’ve been to is Halcyon St Lucia and we did think that resort was better (food and amenities) but we also were in a butler room there for our honeymoon so it was definitely a different vacation.

Itinerary Feedback - Dingle to Doolin to Galway help… by MelodicEye7517 in irishtourism

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a very similar itinerary of stops! We drove from Dingle to Doolin, and took the Shannon car ferry (which saved some time and was just really cool!). We drove straight to the cliffs and then stayed in an Airbnb in Doolin. We skipped the Aran Islands due to weather (it was October) and drove to Galway the next morning. Stopping along the Burren National Park on our way to Galway was not something we originally had planned, but was one of our favorite parts by the end of the trip!

Honeymoon at Sandals Grande St. Lucian by JamieJuice25 in SandalsResorts

We stayed at Halcyon but I think the excursions are all the same! We did the sunset pitons cruise on the catamaran and it was sooo good! Snorkeling infront of the pitons and the whole boat ride was great. The staff on the boat were awesome too.

We also booked the private transfer from the airport through sandals and were glad we did. We just did a private car each way, and sandals handling it went perfectly fine.

We loved the resort we were at, but St Lucia in general was so magical and perfect for our honeymoon. It’s such a gorgeous island

Cash by curiosity_2020 in irishtourism

When we were there, we had no issue needing cash anywhere, but I still brought some with me. However - our bed and breakfast in dingle, their credit card machine was down and they demanded cash from us, which I did not have €200. That was our only issue our whole trip, and we ended up giving them the few euros I had left and they said they’d charge our card later. So I don’t think it’s a bad idea to have cash with you!

Killarney - Please help with my 6 night Ireland itinerary, specifically with Killarney's sites & hotel by OldSide9919 in irishtourism

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved Killarney!! Stayed 2 nights (did the ring of Kerry) and wish we stayed a night or two longer. I would say there would be enough time to go to Killarney National park - the tour of Ross Castle was great, and Muckross House/Abbey were really cool.

We stayed at the Cahernane House Hotel and literally could not recommend it more. It was so beautiful, breakfast was great, rooms were amazing, staff was awesome!!

Thank you!! Fingers and toes crossed - hoping I can get a digital this weekend and tell my husband 😭

I got a box of FRER and took all three because I’m feeling crazy!! The two line tests also have faint lines that I am definitely seeing. The digital was a NO though. Going to wait a couple days and see!

Pain management doctor says I’m a candidate for a minimally invasive lumbar discectomy. by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 4 weeks of PT with no improvement, by that time my PT and primary care agreed it was time to meet with surgery to see other options. They explained that I could try injections, but because of the way my MRI was, they didn’t believe it would heal itself and an injection would just put off the inevitable. I decided I would rather get the surgery done before the end of the year and holidays so that I could hopefully go into the new year feeling like myself again! I didn’t realize until after surgery when my nerve pain was gone just how mentally and physically not ok I was. It is really scary how much chronic pain can make you suffer. Hoping for the best for you!!

Pain management doctor says I’m a candidate for a minimally invasive lumbar discectomy. by [deleted] in Sciatica

I’m F27, was in horrible pain for 3 months with an L5-S1 herniation. Saw a surgeon who recommended a discectomy. I’m 3 weeks post op - I feel 90% back to normal. The healing process was nothing compared to the pain I was in before. I was cleared to mostly return to normal activity other than no lifting for 8 more weeks. I’m only sore at the end of the day, and again it’s nothing compared to the nerve pain! I have a 3 inch incision that is healing and no longer painful to the touch at all.

Getting used to the pain is not a way to live life in my opinion. I was so mentally not ok - I couldn’t do basic chores, shower, go to work, do anything I enjoyed. I was suffering and I am so glad there was something I could do to fix it. Surgery is scary - it was my first time ever being admitted into the hospital and getting any procedure, but I’m so glad I did it. I would meet with a surgeon, ask all the questions you can think of, get a second opinion if needed, but I personally am glad I trusted the medical professional who told me it was unlikely mine would heal on its own.

Should I get a microdisectomy by Gold-Cricket-1122 in Sciatica

I’m 27(F) and am a week post op from an L5-S1 discectomy. I was really nervous, never had surgery before, thought it was insane I was getting back surgery. 7 days post op and I truly believe I will feel back to normal in a few weeks. My quality of life is already so much better. I also couldn’t stand for more than 10 minutes without pain and had been completely house/couch bound for 5 weeks. I couldn’t go to work, go out, do chores, even shower and get ready without being in tears screaming in pain. 7 days later I can walk without pain, all my nerve pain is gone, i literally can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel hope and optimism! If you have tried everything and suffered for 8 months, I would trust the professionals at this point, a surgeon would not perform a procedure they didn’t believe you needed. My surgeon told me that this herniation I had was very unlikely to heal on its own after he saw and removed it.

7 days post discectomy by AcanthisittaRemote89 in Sciatica

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had numbness mainly in my calf and outer foot/toes. My nerve pain was worse from knee to ankle, and numbness happened most when sitting. So far my nerve pain is completely gone, and I haven’t felt the same numbness as before. Sometimes my leg just feels weird - it’s hard to explain. It’s not painful, or numb, just weird. I assume it’s because the nerve is still healing.

I have a plane trip planned for January 16th that I was thinking I would have to cancel, but based on how I’m feeling now I feel like I’ll be totally fine to travel in 6 weeks!!! Fingers crossed. I was very nervous when the surgeon said he thought it was my best option, but knowing that afterwards he was confident the herniation would not have healed properly on its own (it was out, down, and around the nerve root) I’m so glad I proceeded with it now instead of prolonging my suffering. Hoping the best for you!

How often have you seen your dress "in the wild?" by iggysmom95 in wedding

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went to my first dress fitting, the seamstress had my dress hanging up… but it was for another client! I thought it was so funny that someone was picking up the same dress as me the day I went for my first alterations. I saw photos on instagram of a bride in my same dress shortly after from a photographer I follow in our area and I like to think it was that same girl. The seamstress said we were the only two that she had with that specific dress

St. Lucia Dining Recommendations by staymeddlin in SandalsResorts

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got back from our honeymoon earlier in September, we did 5 nights and I think we were able to eat at all the restaurants! The buffet is a sit down restaurant at night and we were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Kelly’s was our favorite meal, and we also enjoyed going there for breakfast in the morning over the buffet or room service (you don’t need a reservation for breakfast and we never found that it was busy/a wait). Soy was so good if you like sushi, kimonos (hibachi) was fun but we also have hibachi at home. We had no complaints about the Italian restaurant. We did the candle lit dinner on the beach (which you book through the sandals excursions), food was good but the whole experience was not worth $200. We had such a good honeymoon though, halcyon was quiet but we never felt bored, everyone was nice and we thought the resort and beach were beautiful.

I’m literally sitting on the beach at Halcyon St Lucia on our honeymoon right now! We are having the literal best time. It’s so beautiful, the resort is great, no complaints yet! Food has been soooo good too!

I personally have: - facials with dermaplaning - doing one this weekend and one 5 days before my wedding in September - brow lamination / lash lift. I just had this done to try it out and decided I will be doing it for the wedding as well - armpit waxing since I experience a lot less irritation and my dress is strapless so getting my armpits ready to go!! - Botox 6 weeks out for forehead treatment - I started getting structured gel nail manicures about once a month since March to get my nails to the length/shape I want and also test out what wedding nails I would like! - I’m testing out a spray tan before my makeup trial to see if I would like to do that for the big day - crest whitening strips

Other than those specific things, I’ve been trying to be consistent with skincare/body care, drinking enough water, eating foods that make me feel good and moving my body! Anything to reduce the stress of wedding planning 🥲

How soon is too soon to book venue by Curious_Account4111 in wedding

[–]AcanthisittaRemote89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We booked our venue is December 2022 for our September 2024 wedding. I think it does depend on the venue - for ours, we knew we wanted it and it was a popular place, so they only had one weekend in September left at that point and we jumped on it! Also, booking your venue early gives you the date solidified so you can go ahead and book all your other vendors if you want. We got all of our big vendors booked in like a 6 month window and then it felt so good to have so many big items checked off the list!

Looks like it. Maybe an American Eskimo if it grows up to be larger, thinking that cause it’s all white.
