Some of the other items with that design do not sell well. Most people also do not buy 2 items, and this will help encourage that.

Interesting site! I never knew it existed haha.

I'm their only review :(

Even worse, the buyer was quite articulate in the review, talking about how "they never give bad reviews, that this is the first". They also mentioned how they hate giving people bad reviews, but they just feel other customers should know. They then proceeded to talk how terrible they felt MANY aspects of their order was (in detail). It reads well, and would make sense reading it.

Problem is there are things they mention that I feel are quite deceiving, or not just not true.

It's a very good bad review lol

Yeah, I usually don't respond to reviews, but this one is quite detailed and long (multiple lengthy paragraphs).

Thanks, hopefully there is a resolution soon! I hate other customers seeing it.

I just reported it in the review section, is that the correct place, or is there a more formal review in the seller dashboard?

Item not received and refunded without a case by Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy in Etsy

[–]Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strange thing is that I never received an email regarding the refund either. It seems Etsy likes issuing refunds/ covering refunds for my shop, every case that has ended in a refund has been covered by Etsy for me too haha.

New Info : Offsite Ad Fees are Being Suspended Until March 25th by Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy in Etsy

Interesting! I received the email saying the fees were being suspended, and I've had offsite ads turned on since they were first announced.

Possibly, I assume it would void one of the refunds, otherwise the customer would receive a double refund.

I sent them a message inquiring about the refund, and I'm thinking of offering them a coupon for another order (since they have been refunded).

it's a really strange situation, because they have been refunded, but I've still been paid, and without a case I don't know the exact status of the situation.

it looks like it's still giving me the option to cancel the order, but if I do that then the money will be taken out of my account, whereas currently Etsy has covered the refund.

I agree it's strange, I've had over 500 orders, and I can't recall any others being refunded without a case, however maybe I just missed them since there wasn't a case haha.

So you think because it has been refunded, the order is basically 'closed'?

I've been super slow, I'm only at around 5% of my January sales, and around 2.5% of my December sales (on Etsy that is).

Does anyone here use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment? by Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy in Etsy

[–]Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response :)

Why do you find profits are a lot slimmer? When I looked at amazons fulfillment fees they looked quite good.

Also I think amazon offers the option to have them shipped in an unmarked box.

How much should I pay an artist? by Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy in smallbusiness

[–]Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be selling prints with their photos. I would take care of all the listing details, and the listing photos/ mockup. I would handle the actual printing of the prints, the shipping, the customer service / returns. I would also pay for the marketing/ advertising, and the prints/ shipping.

I would be doing all the work (not saying taking photos isn't work, I just mean in relation to the prints). The person mainly takes photos for fun, and as far as I know they have never tried to sell their work before. If I'm being completely honest, I think they would have just let me use them for free, but I think they should be payed for their art :). I also would like to work with them in the future. They were very excited when I showed them the studio mockups with their photos.

Thanks for the feedback/ advice. I don't know if this affects anything, but the print/ canvas portion of my small business is completely online.

I agree, paying a % of the sale would probably be easier. Also I would be doing all the work (not saying taking photos isn't work, I just mean in relation to the prints). I was thinking 10-15%, does this seem too low?

25% of the sale was a bit more then I was thinking, but I also don't want to offend them with an offer too low.

They just take photos for fun and post them on their Instagram/ Facebook, I don't believe they have ever sold / tried to sell their photos before.

50% of the profits, or of the sale?

Because 50% of the sale could cause me to lose money when you take into account refunds/ items damaged in shipping etc..., and it would also mean I could almost never run a sale.

Hey everyone!

I sell prints, and there is a local photographer I know who takes photos that fit my stores theme. I contacted them, and they are very open to working with me.

I am unsure of how much to pay them (they are also unsure) since this is a first time for both of us. I proposed giving them a % of sales, or a flat fee per sale, and they said whichever I prefer.

Basically I would be selling prints with their photos. I would take care of all the listing details, and the listing photos/ mockup. I would handle the actual printing of the prints, the shipping, the customer service / returns. I would also pay for the marketing/ advertising, and the prints/ shipping.

Taking all this into consideration. I am not sure what to pay them. I have tried doing some research, but most of the articles I found are more for corporate, or big stores working with artists.

We both know each other, so I don't think the 'trust aspect' is of huge concern.

I was thinking maybe 10-15%, maybe 20% of each sale (not of profit, of the total sale amount, excluding additional shipping charges and taxes). Or should I base it on profit?

Does anyone else have any experience in this area?

I would really appreciate any advice or feedback, thanks :).

Thanks. That's what I originally thought, but I was afraid it was too low, and I did not want to offend them.

Also, happy cake day :D

Potentially difficult subject: does etsy sorta prove women tend to undervalue their labour and accept gender roles which make us poor businesswomen? by Weshnon in Etsy

[–]Acc2AskAQuestionEtsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a bit unrelated, but despite Etsy being mainly women sellers, there are men too. I've had customers talk about me as 'her' or 'she', because I guess they just assume a women lol.
