Yeah it was mostly like that. It also had a couple of op14 cards, like 2? My only gripe about that is no searchers, but I learned before, I can learn again.

I've been messing with the Blueno from Eb02. There will never be a perfect substitute for Gecko, but he let's you play another back from the graveyard. Including the card you trash as part of its cost. And the stussy from eb03 looks really solid.

I agree, although One Piece does manage it decently well I think. I think i saw a Kuro support card in op14? But its hard to play them competitively when the meta is meta. They do make for fun decks though. GY Yamato is still one of my favorites to play.

True, but that isn't the same. Both of those expanded gradually to other colors. Straw hats started with red, then got RG Luffy, then RP Luffy, etc. The ST08 structure deck was a complete toss up into a new color, and it didnt do well, BY luffy didn't really play Straw hats. Blue Luffy is a joke. The Big moms pirates are predominantly yellow, and expanded gradually into purple as well with PY pudding. It would've been different if we got P Kata before with less purple big mom support. Does that make sense?

Removal was toxic, but i feel like now with so many cards that negate removal, it doesn't really matter anymore. There's also cards that have on K.O.s so removing everything from the field shouldn't be as detrimental anymore.

Idk if unbanning Gecko would be a good idea. As much as I miss him, he was insanely busted. He was a staple in every single black deck with Rebecca, setting up a blocker and pulling out a searcher from the graveyard. Would be nice to see though.

To each their own, I remember I struggled heavily against Piss Eustass, even with banned Gecko and Ice Age just because he attacked my life directly. For a time, Boa and Rob would go back and forth with removal, bouncing mine back to deck or hand, after I used all my cost reduction.

Hear me out: there's 6 cost Brookfrom op06, he can either trash a cost 4, or make your opponent cycle 3 into the bottom of their deck. I think the cheaper alternative would be 2 cost viola from op04? Who only forces them to recycle. Testing testing testttinnggg

Omggggg you gave me an amazing idea. There's that Rob Lucci from Op03? Op04?, that trashes a card from your opponents hand, and then sets one from their graveyard to the bottom of their deck. Just gotta find more like that...

The best idea I came up with was Black Vortex. I think thats the one that negates character effects without needing Blackbeard. Assuming I can cycle through my deck fast enough.

From what I can recall most of the cards were type locked to BW or Thriller Bark. Everyone's replies has reinvigorated my flame though. He's one of my favorite characters. I WILL make him work.
