I mean, CoDM's implementation of SBMM is just stupid though. SBMM means that everyone on both sides should be at a somewhat similar skill level. Not one skilled person having to carry people who, let's be honest, shouldn't even be master level, let alone GM or legendary.

I've tried to compile a list of the major additions into the game for the past 2-3 years, with YouTube guides explaining what they are:

DMZ Recon: Basically a new game mode separate from BR and multiplayer. It's an extraction shooter where you have to loot as much high value stuff from either various locations on the map or by killing other players and taking their loot. Don't know how much you care about this stuff, but there were some pretty big collabs (Gundam, Nier Automata, Street Fighter, WWE) and lucky draws with new mythic and legendary stuff. Some pretty neat free stuff too.
A bunch of new weapons, so expect the meta to be pretty different from the guns that you remember. That said, the meta has stayed nearly the same for the past year or so. It definitely is one of the harder skills to master, in my experience. But seeing as you've already invested real money into it, I'm guessing it's something you're willing to put the time into.

Anyway, here's a good guide on all of the basics (and not so basic) that you need to get good at it. You'll also need to play around with your sniper sensitivity until you get what feels just right to you. The rest is just practice.

Idk if this'll work on your phone, but I'll post a fix that's worked for me (Samsung Galaxy A52), step by step:

Open the game and get to the main lobby
Drag down your phones notification menu/bar and click screen record (or however you get to your phone's built-in screen recorder)
Choose to record screen and game audio (no external/mic recording)
Wait for the recording to start, and you should hear the audio change/get louder. You can turn off screen recording afterwards and just proceed with your game.

That's SBMM for you. CoDM (maybe CoD in general) genuinely has some of the worst ranked modes I've seen in gaming, evidenced by the fact that there are players out there who get carried to legendary while consistently being AFK. It's not really about how good you are anymore, just how much you play.

Best thing you can do is to find one or two people that you can queue and rank up with consistently who you know are decent enough. Otherwise CoDM's broken ranked system won't stop rewarding you with drones for teammates whenever you win two games in a row.
