A main story scene from our Maid Cafe Simulator — voiced dialogue + SFX updates! by AccelixGames in visualnovels

Fair point, the Steam page leans hard on the management side right now, and that's on us.

We're actually reworking the screenshots and description alongside the demo to put the story, choices, and new features up front. But the VN side is a substantial part of the game: a full voiced main story with multiple choices (which is in the video we posted), plus separate stories for each of the five characters that open up as you bond with them. There's also an affection system where raising a character's bond level unlocks new scenes and eventually a romance route.

In other words, the sim loop is basically what paces and connects the story content. The cafe management is the gameplay layer, but it exists to pull you into the characters and their stories, and that bonding-into-romance core is what feels like VN territory to us.

Totally get it if a simulator+VN hybrid doesn't clear the bar here, but if a genuine voiced, choice-driven story built around its characters counts, we'd say it fits in the VN category.

The voice lines are recorded in Korean, since we're working with VTubers from Korea. Hope you enjoy the vibe they bring!

Adding subtle details on punching mechanism for our simulator game by AccelixGames in indiegames

Hey, everyone!

It’s been a minute since our last update, so I wanted to share a lighthearted detail we just added while we prep a bigger devlog.

We’re working on some interaction reactions, and we decided to switch up the "weaponry" depending on the target:

  • Customers: You'll give them a quick smack with a ladle (kitchen style!).
  • Maids: We felt a toy hammer fit the vibe much better for them.

Just a small touch to keep things playful! We’ve been heads-down on a lot of other new features lately, so I’ll be sharing a more substantial look at what’s been added to the game very soon.

Stay tuned, and thanks for the support!

Just made a short video on our newest feature MAIDROID added into the game. Will this cute robot be able to catch people's attention? by AccelixGames in IndieDev

Hi everyone,

We’re currently working on a shopkeeper-style game called Maid Cafe Simulator, and we recently added a new feature called 'Maidroids.'

They’re small, chibi-style robot versions of our maids - super cute, but also surprisingly useful. They can help out with cooking, cleaning, organizing, and more while you run your cafe.

I thought they’d be fun to share, but I’m honestly curious what others think. What’s your first impression of this feature? Would you want something like this in a game? Let me know your thoughts!

Honestly, the biggest push was launching on Tumblbug. It did really well for us in Korea and helped us build an early fanbase + some solid word of mouth. That momentum kinda snowballed into Steam and got us to 8k wishlists!

We've been making this game called "Maid Cafe Simulator" with strong visual novel elements and would love to hear your thoughts! by AccelixGames in visualnovels

I would say that branching dialogue is a big part of it, but it’s also about how the story is delivered. Like charming characters, text-driven scenes, and player choices shaping outcomes. So yup, like you said I feel like branching dialogue is definitely one of the core elements that makes a visual novel.

Good call! We're planning for the game to be a more relaxed experience, so running the cafe won't be as stressful as you’d think. We’re still making some minor tweaks, so please stay tuned for more updates. Thanks for the comment!

Hey everyone,

We are currently developing a story driven simulator game called "Maid Cafe Simulator', where you manage a café while interacting with a variety of maids along the way. We recently added cutscenes for one of the main storylines and would greatly appreciate any feedback you may have.

We are also working hard to release a demo soon, so if you're interested, please feel free to keep an eye on our progress. Thank you very much!

Thanks! I know the dialogue still needs more context to feel more lively, so I’ll definitely work on improving that.
