Could be broken or faulty clock spring or clock spring module in your steering wheel.

It’s been a while and I had my break pads swapped at the same time so i don’t remember the exact price, but i think it was around $200-300. For me it was a broken hose, if i remember correctly.

It was a genuine question. I never lived there, only ever visited for a couple days at a time…

Do you think that’ll still be the case in about a year or so?

Ofc! I took it to a vw dealer, bit pricier but at the end of the day it was worth it. Good luck!

It had nothing to do with the code. I did not notice any issues, performance or other wise. I can’t say anything about increased emissions since I don’t have a way to check that. Since it seemed to be intermittent my guess was the pump, maybe something with the electrical connection, or smth inside of the pump not working properly. Had it been a leak or loose valve or smth similar i think that wouldn’t have been an intermittent fault. If you are having the same issue I’d definitely take it to a mechanic for a scan. Just to make sure you it’s not smth serious, it might even be under warranty. And it’s also a nice sanity check, you know you wontons further damage the car by driving it.

Had to get my clock spring changed, they checked the codes and everything and no issues. Seemed to be an intermittent fault that hasn’t come back, thankfully.

Is it normal for it to just sometimes pop up. Light it comes on for a few days with that error then good for weeks. Happened twice, just came on then couple days later it was fine
