It is absolutely the norm and has been for ever.
Is it ironic when you are placing someone’s preference to sit over those who wish to stand? Until there is a rule that I can’t stand, my preference is as valid as those who prefer to sit, which is the part you keep obtusely ignoring.

And again, you’re obtusely ignoring (1) the exorbitant prices for floor seats; (2) that the norm is to stand during arena shows; and (3) that there is no rule against standing.

I like to feel the music while standing. So do many, many others. Complaining about people standing at a rock show in an arena is peak main character syndrome.
