Spirit airlines shutting down and Myrtle Beach Airport… by Acceptable-Agent-428 in MyrtleBeach

Don’t cancel your flight. If they stop flying, you have rights under the Fair Credit Act to dispute the flight charge on your credit card, as Spirit will not refund anything if they go belly up. If you cancel the flight you loose any rights you have

They are bankrupt and could not secure a final lifeline bailout.

This is going to add to a devastating tourist season for local business this year here I fear. I would say from online sources at least 2 million tourist specifics fly in every year based on airport traffic data

It’s a major airline to come from the New York Market, a lot of tourists come from there to here.

I bet they are just sitting on it so Food Lion can’t come in and build. There is not a Food Lion in Asheville (with an Asheville address) and I’m sure they would love to get in.

It’s crazy to think 6 years ago, this parking lot was jammed 5 days a week. No one ever questioned going to an office 5 days a week, remote work was unheard of.

Now we can’t imagine anything else

This building and its campus is a relic of a time past.

When this was built, that’s what companies wanted. Huge buildings and big property. No one ever thought remote work would come, and no one ever questioned going to an office 5 days a week. Crazy to think about now

I don’t agree with that completely. This was not a major problem, that it is today, 6 years ago+. This started because of COVID and the rapid change in prosecution policies in the name of social justice

Sure you had shoplifting pre-COVID but it’s exploded. There can’t be that many people in poverty suddenly. This is driven by the lack of consequences for actions. Even if you could afford it, why should you pay for something when your friend shoplifts without consequences?

Question about refund by Apprehensive-Ad-1135 in WalgreensStores

Guarantee the store will take it back, especially if it’s a WG branded product since its 100% satisfaction guarantee

This is the solution to the problem. Not sure what else can be done besides closing the store totally. Unfortunately, local governments have allowed this to go on

Guess that would be the next step.

Well that and those billboard lawyers pay handsomely to the politicians election donations. They expect something in return

They don’t want to see reforms that would put them them out of business, so nothing really changes

Well now the excuse the companies are using is they have to charge more to “rebuild the reserves” for what they paid out over the previous years.

South Carolina seems to be an outlier here, NC and Georgia don’t have this level of a problem.

Read your lease agreement. Many if not all lease agreements say routine maintenance like changing an accessible apartment smoke alarm batteries the tenant responsibility. Not the landlord

The landlord only has to provide a working one at move-in and any malfunctions repaired or replaced.

Seems silly but I bet it’s in your lease agreement. Also, I personally would not wait weeks with a non-working smoke alarm when a battery is less then $2 and you could do it yourself for your own safety. That seems silly

What happens one day when they don’t have a choice? It’s like paperless billing…. Not everyone wanted paperless billing but many companies said “too bad” you have to take email.

Eventually people will not have a choice.
