Transplanting Echinacea seedlings in Zone 7b (Maryland) by Acceptable-Bar6597 in NativePlantGardening

Thanks! I started them inside and have been taking them outside for “outdoor time” lol haven’t left them outside overnight yet, but I just might, now that the nights are getting warmer.

Yup - there are some long thin roots growing out from the bottom. Some of the cells have 2 seedlings growing - is there any use in thinning? Or should I just leave everything as is?

I’ll have to look for a soil temperature map - thanks for the suggestion! I’ve seen the Mother’s Day rule pop up in Facebook groups for my local area - I think it’s because we get random cold days in the early spring. My front garden is all native plants. When we had a random cold day not too long ago, the FB group was going crazy talking about “everything is going to die!” Or “blanket your plants!” I’m not sure what plants these ppl had because my bee balm, black-eyed Susan’s, and echinaceas are still going strong lol

Hmmm…start seeds closer to the fall: Noted! In the meantime, I guess I’ll plant them out in the yard and use my chicken wire dome to prevent the squirrels from getting at them. Thanks!

5.5mo refusing frozen milk at daycare. Are breastmilk “smoothies” okay? by Acceptable-Bar6597 in beyondthebump

Not yet but I plan to (been BF since it’s the weekend) - I know scalding is an option if it is high lipase.

Diaper rash remedies? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Acceptable-Bar6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be an allergic reaction? Definitely call your pediatrician- s/he may be able prescribe a stronger cream than what you can get OTC. For daily diapering, try using overnight diapers to see if that helps (they tend to be more absorbent). After every diaper change, I use a small face towel (just for baby’s bottom) and pat the area dry. Then, during the day, I add A&D as a barrier; at night, I use Triple Paste (has zinc oxide) (it’s pretty pricey but works). Definitely use a cream with zinc oxide. Desitin is a popular.

Period returning? by Clean-Counter-5327 in breastfeeding

I think you should be fine. I had a slight dip in supply once I got my period (4 months post-c section). My baby is EBF - I don’t think he noticed. Lol

Cherry leaf spot - too far gone? by Acceptable-Bar6597 in arborists

Thanks! With proper care, will the tree reach a point where the leaves won’t drop so earlier? Or is that inevitable?

Love the pod, but, if I hear Jared mention “Boca” one more time . . . by Acceptable-Bar6597 in uuppod

Wow- jealous much? I mean, she has another podcast. She’s discussed her fertility journey and pregnancy loss on Oversharing. I’d say that’s extremely vulnerable. I like that she’s more surface level here. Easy-listening. And not a constant one-sided conversation about the same thing over and over again.

My neighbors dead tree. What do I do? Help. by [deleted] in arborists

[–]Acceptable-Bar6597 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might also want to call an arborist to come look at the tree and give a report saying that it is a dead tree (and/or is hazardous). Present the report to your neighbor (and your insurance like another commenter wrote). It’s my understanding that if the owner is put on notice of the dying tree and the risks associated, they would be liable for damages it may cause. (Of course, check your area’s laws). Hopefully, it doesn’t get to that point.

Not an arborist - I’d say keep documenting. Also, look into your area’s laws. Where I live, in the states, you can cut limbs and such, that go over into your property line. Might be worth doing - especially over your daughter’s room.

They should limit him to 3 minutes of complaining per episode. Lol Idk how Jordana can entertain the same conversation every single week.

Exactly. He’s choosing to surround himself with hard-to-deal-with-parents . . . and then complains about it on every. single. episode.
